Super Bowl LIII

Keeping aviation in it, my favorite commercial was Harrison Ford's dog ordering dog food with the Echo on Amazon.

"Alexa, am I about to land on the taxiway? Aaaaargh!"

Wait! I missed the Stuperbowl? Again? Darn.
You really didn't miss much. The score should tell you how pitiful it was this year. :(

As far as the halftime show, I was definitely underwhelmed.
I think the halftime show went hand-in-hand with the actual game. A big yawn, huge disappointment and sense of wasted time.
This year's Superbowl will go down in anals of history. (see what I did there?)

The crowd I was with voted the "Game of Thrones wipes out Bud Light" the best commercial.

So the bar is owned by former New England players?

:D

Apparently the Super Bowl is a big thing among Brits and Aussies. The bar manager is a Brit, so "New England" worked for him. The bar owner is a Vietnamese lady (all the bars are, at least on paper.)

I have to say that Tony Romo is a great commentator. He knows the game, predicts the plays and has a great sense of humor. I liked it especially when a flag was thrown and nobody really knew why and Romo was saying the words for the referee "what is it guys, you threw a flag early...you gotta give me something, off sides, neutral zone...what?"

I'm a Pats fan because the majority of my family lives in New England and I grew up there. It makes me glad for my siblings and their kids and families who all got together for the big game. With all that in mind, the defensive battle on both sides, peppered with Edelman's 10 catches and Gronk's contributions made it a thriller. But if you don't have a dog in the fight, I could see it being a yawner.

Tell you what though - I think Brady is done. Worst QB production evah. Ok, second worst, there was another QB on the field. The only question is whether he knows it's over. Would be sad to see him like Farve.

I'd take Al, Frank, and Dan over Howard every time. His linguistic antics and voice drove me nuts! (Short trip, I know...)

Agreed. I never liked Cosell. His voice hurt my ears.

You and others will probably being saying that again after he wins it next year. :)

$100M+ in the bank. Wife who's a panty model. Will go down in history as the greatest ever.

And he's gonna risk additional hits that make him a gimp or addle his brain?

He needs to follow the Calvin Johnson model and get out on top, with money in the bank and most of his health intact.

He's starting to grow on me. I got a bit tired of him, as most KC fans did, when he kept predicting every play NE was going run and I knew the KC defense was going to be unable to stop it.

But his comment after the 65 yd punt last night, "It's starting to get good!", was epic.

I have a feeling he'll be a good one, for a long time.

BTW, happy Tet. Do they get as drunk as Americans during New Year celebrations?

Brady estimated at $180 million, his wife, $400 million.

Oh they get stupid F drunk. And don't need Tet for an excuse, either.

Somehow i ended up seeing that somewhere without having to watch the game.
But on the bright side, the Detroit Lions continued their 54 year streak of never having been defeated in the super bowl.

I have found the most exciting football games usually are the low scoring games... Sounds like this was a pretty good game.

143 to 140 is not an exciting game. Want high scoring games, watch 6 man football.

3 hours of turnovers and goal line stops? Perhaps. An endless parade of 3-and-outs? No thanks.
