I had MOHS procedure for a Basal Cell over/in my right eyebrow a few years back. I bit unnerving, but no pain during procedure. Ended up having a an approximate a large section cut out to get everything. Had some bruising and localized swelling for several days. Looked like I'd been punched pretty hard a few times to the point right eye was swollen shut. Pain was minimal, but bandage was more of an irritation.
Fast forward to today and I have a faint scare above right eyebrow.

Glad for you. Good news.Tumor was removed this morning, the surgeon got it all in one try. Stitches come out in 10 days
It really did go well, in at 09:15 on our way home at 10:30, Dr. removed the tumor, sent it to pathology, they determined he got it all, So he closed it up and we were on our way home.Glad it went well.
Thank you.Best wishes for a speedy recovery

This thing is /was 3/4" in diameter, 1/2" deep. on the Cheek bone. there are 21 stitches.Stitches! You must have gotten the deluxe treatment because it’s your face.
My basal cell carcinomas were all on the torso, so it was burn-and-scrape, which leaves a nickel-size scar. No stitches involved.
I've had both squamous, and basal cell carcinoma. One was on my ankle, and thanks to my wife, I saw a dermatologist. I had to put an anti-cancer topical dressing on it for two weeks, then an anti-bacterial dressing for about a month to let it heal faster.
The other one was on my chest. This one was four weeks of the anti-cancer topical dressing and it took two months to completely heal.
My wife has some anti-toxin skin dressing by Arbonne that I've been spreading on the redness, and it's almost cleared up.
BTW, what will I need to supply the FAA when I take my 3rd class medical?
Thanks, I think it should work the same for topical treatment, esp. since there hasn't been any recurrence in either area.

Correct. My MOHS surgery cost me $40, and that included follow-ups. Medicare paid the rest.Nope. You and other members here paid for it

Pathologist looks at it under a microscope and determines an appropriate mm of normal tissue between the cancer and all margins of the tissue sample. Done during the mohs procedure before closing. If margins not clear they whittle some more and again look for clear margins. that process continues until clear margins obtained. so, they will know and have documentation of clear margins before you leave the office. Not a DR bout how would they certify margins clear?
