Strangest thing you've ever seen on a runway?

Golf balls on 8R/26L at KSUS because apparently it's "fun" to drive balls towards airplanes...

On the same runway, I once found a bag full of Einstein bagels and a box of coffee. My theory is that they left them sitting on the wing and didn't do a proper final walk-around. If I were them, when I found out the coffee was left behind I'd have declared immediately...

Not on the runway, but on an adjacent taxiway I found a half-box of shotgun shells. I guess our wildlife control "expert" left them. I'm just glad I found 'em before the Falcon 900 doing a run-up did...

A golfer towing a golf bag. I had to do a go around for it. Shelter Cove runway sits in the middle of a golf course.

I saw an elk (or some similar large deer-like thing) on the runway at BJC one day.

Runway at Gibralter. Has a two lane road and sidewalk that runs right through it.

People. I had to abort my takeoff due to idiots strolling across the runway during the Reklaw fly-in.

Of course, in their defense, the "runway" at Reklaw is more like a ski jump. You can't see the arrival end from the departure end.

Deer were pretty common in Iowa. Mary had to do a low approach to scatter them off the grass strip in Amana.

For some reason we seem to have a lot of wild turkeys at our field. They can fly, but they don't like to if they can help it. So once they are inside the airport fence, they tend to stay inside for a long time. One day I saw a lanscape guy chasing them around on a mower!

Not ON the runway, but there used to be a couple of ducks that would fly the length of 18/36 at KFCM...one direction in the morning, and the other direction in the afternoon.

One day at 5C1 having just gone wheels up in the Cub on a hot day - slow climb rate with a full load - a guy decided it would be a good idea to bike down part of the runway turning onto it in front of us. Not cool.

A set of prop slings and cowl and exhaust plugs for a King Air. Found them on the KWVI runway at the start of the pavement. My guess is they blew out of an unlatched nacelle compartment on takeoff. I never heard from the airport manager if he tracked down who they came from.
