Show up to Wings next May and you can present yours for challenge. Until then, I agree - Andrew Stanley's is the best.

JOOC, Henning, where in the state were you? There's a lot of Texas to choose from.
By way of returning to the original post topic (sorta), I would not be at all surprised to find that the perpetrator of this foul deed was not from Texas, anyway. Sucking or not, there are a whole lot of people moving here everyday...
It happens more often then you'd think. Horses, cows, dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens - if you live in a rural setting anywhere, you'll sooner or later find deliberately injured ones. I never came across anyone doing it, but from the time I started driving I had a breaker bar with me, and it wasn't for changing tires.
I'm sorry for your sister and the horse. A horse is every bit as much a companion as a dog.
Hey -- I said mine was best -- that don't mean it's free, bub.

That was in Hampden, ME in 1987. The hunter saw a glimpse of something move, and shot it. It was right between the shoulder blades of a mother of two one year old twins, on her back deck in Maine. And people. Remember the guy who shot a woman in her own yard... and raised a defense that "she wasn't wearing Orange"...

Well. they don't housebreak too good. But you can't jump a 4 foot fence riding a dog either. They both have soft noses, though.
To my way of thinking, they go best in pairs.
Lance, my condolences to your sister. If she's able, she ought to get another. Lots of good horses out there people can no longer afford to keep.

I hope they catch them too. But isn't the reality that there is a slim to none chance of that? Unless more horses are shot this way I doubt that there are enough law enforcement resources available to investigate this case.
Texas sucks....
It'll come down to one scuzball ratting out another one. They'll brag about it to a buddy who will get arrested for some other fool thing and be dying to try to trade info for a pass on something.
I woke up one morning, walked into the kitchen and there was my horse with his head in the fridge eating a bag of apples I had bought the previous day... Horses smell a damned sight better than dogs too, actually, I'd be hard pressed to name a smell I like better than the smell of a horse... maybe a girl who just got off a horse...
