I can't tell anything as far as the aircraft. https://twitter.com/SouthLoneStar/status/823629757833166849

Flightaware...What makes you thing it's a Premier 1?
Dang. RIPTwo dead. Considering the size of a King Air 300, there's not much left.

I was on my way to the hangar and was about a mile away when I suddenly saw a lot of black smoke, figured that it was a training fire and continued on my way. As the gate to my hangars was opening I saw all the off airport emergency response vehicles going to the scene. That's how close I was but didn't see it actually come out of the sky.
I got nine texts in 5 minutes, one from a friend deployed to Afghanistan, wondering if I was okay. Appreciated and sobering at the same time.
Happened to me several times. When I lived in Alaska, I would first hear about a plane crash in Alaska from my friends in Texas calling to see if I was Ok....
I remember watching a documentary about that ASA Brasilia that had a prop sever in-flight and crashed south of ATL. Were you with the airline at that time? When I was at the airline we had a couple Brasilias crash, and my wife was getting calls all day long, especially my kids worried it was me involved.

Wow! Quite the story and an interesting documentary. Sad deal!Yes but it actually was west in the Carrollton area. Capt a good friend with a pretty wife and 2 sweet little boys. He saved a lot of lives by getting it in a field. He was knocked out from impact and hopefully died before the plane was engulfed in flames. I think around 30-50% of the passengers got out, including the FA. FO got burned badly but eventually returned to the line. FA never could make it back, she and the Co tried. She saved some lives by not panicking.

And I know they began to retire the EMBs in the early 2000's to replace with the current CRJ series, correct? I remember when they flew the ATR's into here many moons ago.Yes. We had two crash because of propeller problems, both instances the fault of Hamilton-Standard. The other crashed in a turn to final at BQK, killing all onboard. Sen John Tower -TX and an astronaut were among those that died in that crash. Left prop went to flat pitch and not enough altitude to recover, if they could even have done so.

CHA. Expressjet has reduced service on the CRJ's from what it used to be. Delta has started mainline service within the past couple of years flying Mad-dogs and 717's. Lots of changes from how it was years ago!I know we were flying E120s, ATRs, and the CRJs at the same time, but I'm not sure but seems early 2000s about right. I flew the E120, ATR, and CRJs. Where are you on TN? I remember flying into TRI and CHA in the ATR.

I've always assumed the crews despise short legs, such as ATL-CHA. Probably only block 1.0hr each way, if that. Ha! But yeah, they've really lowered RJ service from ATL in the past few years. Skywest flies a couple of flights from ATL but the majority is all DAL now.I remember when we flew into CHA late at night and departed early the next morning (last in, first out). Rest of the flights were all Delta, and Delta ground station. Then we took over the station and Delta didn't service CHA at all with their planes, we did all the flying for Delta. I've heard it's back to Delta now though as you said.
Understandable, but a damn shame she didn't go back to flying. That FA did a hell of an outstanding job.Yes but it actually was west in the Carrollton area. Were you landing on 13? The big hwy and hill on short final (hence the displaced threshold) don't exactly help the vertical approach stability. Had a LLWS encounter there myself.Had a nasty shear at KEDC Austin Exec a few months ago that the Tiger handled ok (nearly a go-around).
