They better get it together before I fly them next month.
I may be a bit biased, but being new to 121 flying after 37 years of GA I have to say I've been impressed with how meticulous about maintenance SkyWest (and I suspect most 121 carriers) are on a day to day basis. The captain goes through the maintence "can" thoroughly before the first flight in any aircraft we take over. We've grounded our aircraft over seemingly inconsequential items (loose carpet trim strip) because that's what the rules require.
So, I'll be interested to hear SkyWest's side of this story.
Lessee….two aircraft, 16 thousand flights.
Even if they were doing four flights a day, that's over 5 years.
Someone let an AD go for a very long time.
They better get it together before I fly them next month.
And if they don't?
Plus it's not like this kind of thing doesn't happen to the majors.in the grand scheme of things really this is small potatoes....probably a mx software glitch or something along those lines....(sure it has happened) but not to many folks in 121 will intentionatley ignore an AD.
