Meet Vince Shlomi. He's probably better known to you as the ShamWow Guy, the ubiquitous television pitchman who has been phenomenally successful peddling absorbent towels and food choppers. Shlomi, 44, was arrested last month on a felony battery charge following a violent confrontation with a prostitute in his South Beach hotel room. According to an arrest affidavit, Shlomi met Sasha Harris, 26, at a Miami Beach nightclub on February 7 and subsequently retired with her to his $750 room at the lavish Setai hotel. Shlomi told cops he paid Harris about $1000 in cash after she "propositioned him for straight sex." Shlomi said that when he kissed Harris, she suddenly "bit his tongue and would not let go." Shlomi then punched Harris several times until she released his tongue.

I believe "straight sex" is the name of the service being purchased, with "straight" supplying contrast to acts of a more advanced nature which may entail additional surcharges, and does not imply anything about the relative orientations of the participants.

I find it amusing that her mugshot on the left looks like her shirt is on backwards and inside out..

I believe those are two different mug shots (note the slight difference in hair styles) and that the top is issued by the facility. The article stated that she had been previously arrested.

Those are Pictures from an older arrest. There are new pictures from the night of the latest arrest. She now has that crack whore look going for her.
 
I've got to believe there was a way to extricate himself from that situation without landing multiple blows to her face...and it looks to me like he hit her with full swings, not the kind of weak punch you'd throw if you were face-to-face with someone where you couldn't extend your arm/fist fully.

Note that the girl never gave any comment to police about what happened. The entire bite story comes from the sham-wow guy.

I'd lecture about the stupidity of paying for sex, but the pictures really do a far better job.
 
It seems that if she has been arrested before that she may be doing the only line of work that she can get.

The reports said that Slap Chops tongue was all cut up. Though it does look like he was a little excessive with the pimp hand.
 
She's gonna hafta get a unlisted set of high heels to avoid all of the lawyers calling.

I agree. I don't think she could have received that kind of damage while their faces were less than inch apart. He must have continued whaling on her after she let go. (The reported lacerations to his tongue do suggest that she may have bit it.)

These are people who are desperate and have little in the way of resources. The lucrative profession is one that is hard to turn away from when they may only be qualified for it or a min wage job.

My best friend took a downward spiral a few years ago. He got himself into some bad stuff and for a while he was on the streets and prostituted himself. It is awful and when he talks about it my heart just bleeds for him. He finally almost died and started to turn his life around. He came back here, he had been in Michigan, got clean and then called me. It has been a couple of years and he is still suffering for the two years he had the lifestyle. But the drugs are an evil and unforgiving mistress. He was lucky he at least had a skill that can pay him a living wage and the owner of the biz gave him a 2nd chance. It is a constant struggle, I love him like a brother and I know he is one of the very few who has gotten this far. I am one of only a couple of the 'old friends' who will still talk to him and support him. He tried to contact some of his old acquaintances in the biz last year. out of 15 people he found 8 who were dead, 2 still in the biz and the rest are MIA.

Wow. That is a tough story. I'm impressed that he was able to turn things around.
 
What a heart-wrenching trio of photos: sweet, cocky, battered. In addition to the alleged bitten tongue and the black eye, does it look like bite marks on her lower lip?

Yeah, it's a bit of stretch to say those facial wounds were recieved while she was biting his tongue. :skeptical:

As for his tongue lacerations, that could happen from a punch to the lower jaw. Judging from his pics I'd say she landed a few of her own. :thumbsup:

Why the hell did she bite him and not let go? That isn't exactly the brightest thing to do and can easily lead to this or worse with the wrong guy.

Stepping aboard the Speculation Steamboat; I would hazard that he may have "playfully" bit her lips or tongue first. She didn't like it and gave him a "Here ya go, how do you like that!?" bite of her own. He tripped off and wailed on her. The "she wouldn't let go" is a justification embellishment. :dunno:

Check him out on wikipedia. His real name is Vince Offer. He has lead a really interesting life. Failed movie career, was a Scientologist and sued them after he left that church.

Take away the bruises from his altercation and he looks like every other alcoholic, meth addict homeless person.

I'd be curious to know what *actually* went down.
