Hi,

I've just started my private pilot course and bought the Jeppesen Private Pilot Maneuvers DVD's, but they won't run on Windows 7. Is there a way 2 make it work (e.g. a loader)..

Thanx in advance

Are we talking the video course? Can you play any DVD on your Win7 box?

Call up Jepp and ask for your money back unless they can walk you through how to get it to work. -Skip

I have this product on CD. Just stuck it in the drive and the loader will not run under Win7. I will play with it a bit.

No joy with compatibility settings. The CD version does not even list XP and older programs sometimes do things with graphics, memory access, etc. that are just not supported under newer systems. On the CD version, the graphics are so broken up that it is really not an option to view them with VLC or another player - they are heavily branched from the software menu system that is not working.

Personally, I have older boxes and laptops that I can play this on and you can pick up a box cheap on eBay. Or you can dual boot, but I would not go to the trouble of that. Have you contacted Jeppesen support? I am sure they can answer your question and the vendor should accept it back if it will not run on Win7 and that was not clear from the vendor.

Windows 7 Home Premium, Ultimate, and Enterprise come with DVD playback capability built in. If you're running Windows 7 Home Basic or Starter, you can upgrade your edition of Windows 7 to add full DVD capability.

It is probably not a normal DVD but is a software program that includes programmed learning and a menu system that accesses the video files on the disc. If it is like the CD version (and I doubt they changed it much), the video files are too small and broken up to make watching them with a media player much fun.

If you browse into the cd directory and can identify the program, it should be possible to right click on it and run it in compatability mode or windows xp.

Note: This Software will not work with Windows 7!

Does not work with CD version, maybe he will have better luck with the DVD but see the note posted above.

The Manouvers version I was looking at claims it will run on a PC, a MAC, or any standard DVD player. This is why I asked what he had exactly.
