Ack...city life
God help me. I'm watching the closing scene of "Pretty Woman". She's leaving the St Regis in a private limo, alone.

What is the most extravagant use of fuel per pax you've experienced?

outside of our illustrious fat cats in DC, you mean?

Since 85% of all my flying is solo.....almost every time I go flying.

What he said.

Unless I'm in the glider, then it's only a couple of gallons of tow plane fuel to get me started. Then depending on the day.. Go for miles and miles and hours on hours. :)

We flew from Eastern Michigan to Western Washington (state) with a mother and two kids, then sat for two hours and flew them right back. So they could pick up two new kittens.

I heard a story of a couple guys who had to fly from White Plains to SoCal in the middle of winter (read 2 tech stops) with noone but a dog on board. The owners decided they wanted the dog with them for their four days in Cali instead of with the sitter.

Hmmm, a lot more extravagant than one person in a limo...

If you keep watching crap like that you'll go blind.

Guy I know flew Dallas to one of the coasts, as one of six passengers on a 737, in order to participate in an incident investigation.

---

But when I think about it: there's a guy has a private 737 at ADS, flies in it (should say, "is flown in it") to NY, Vegas,, etc. several times per month. Often the only passenger.

Dead legs in the Learjet have been the biggest waste of fuel I've personally witnessed. My farthest so far has been to Bermuda.

Lots of stories of Gulfstreams, Lears being sent halfway across the county to fetch a purse, pair of shoes, poodle, etc etc.
