Route Planning

And the Columbus MOA. If it is any day but Sunday, guarantee those are active.

Yeah Columbus MOA. I might have almost died in one. was flying a 150..the west MOA's are usually T-6's..well a low level T-38 about ruined our day. Came up from behind, buzzed us and was gone. Im not sure he ever saw us..I really hope he did and was just playing but dang it scared the crap out of me..afterwords I thought it was cool though:D

Make sure you get flight following though north MS, Columbus approach is awesome and are easy to work with.

If you stop at KSTF, and you deal with Kenny, tell him Vinny sent ya.

I never fly without FF during a XC.

Will do!

I ended up landing at KGWO due to it getting dark and I don't like flying at night.

Heading out early for 30GA.

cool man, glad you made here safely. I've been to gwo only once. That was my first solo short xc.

Tower was closed, was really easy to land when no one was in the air and no one to talk to. Lol

I was high as a mofo on final, slipped it in and made sure to stay centerline (30ga is 40ft wide) was a non-event, which is good. I just put pressure on myself when I night fly... or close to. Landed at 731pm, the beacon was on, looked so inviting....

Those big ass airliners they have everywhere is kinda intimidating, but really cool.

I departed from KGKY, not having flown since December I tried to get a safety pilot OR CFI, it didn't work out... I ended up doing one touch and go and departed, my touch in go was not bad for a refresher, I kinda ballooned but quickly adjusted and it settled nicely, throttle full and off i went with the knowledge of "see you retard, you remember how...why were you so worried?" Lol

Yeah I don't think those planes ever move either..up at KTUP they have a place that flies in jumbo's and what not and they break them down and sell the parts or make furniture out of stuff. Really neat to see that!

I too sometimes after a while of not flying get get that same feeling of do I remember how to do this.

How much is fuel at KGWO?

Well I caught a flight out of KATL and flew into DFW today, was bitter sweet to say the least.

I landed at 30GA, my first 50 hours of flying i developed a problem keeping centerline on runways when landing, I have gotten tremendously better since the 100hr mark, but it was still in the back of my mind when I was setting up to land. Safe to say I have left that fear behind and can land on pretty narrow runways, I'd venture enough to say that I could knock out a 20ft wide runway if I had to.

8558W's new owners are really good people, couldnt be happier she's in their care now.

Pay some bills, get back on my feet and start over. I'll own again, just gonna take some time. Thanks for the congrats!

That's what working the energy sector has always been, boom and bust. Planes come and go, I'll likely have a few more.
