Also I think it helps that I heard a certain blowhard, premature accident investigator has been banned form Stearman field.
what if we all just moved into a fly in community, this way every day would technically be a fly in!

$8MM for 50 of our closest friends!it would be cool to live at an airpark.
Unfortunately nobody else in my family agrees.
Let's start an airpark timeshare company.
That’s unfortunate. That’s the only one I’d actually gone to. I’d wondered what happened to it.Wings, as we knew it, in all likelihood won't take place again.
@RyanB This one is a Monty Python reference1K1. Great, only 9 hrs away. Merely a flesh wound.
Although a person could fly commercial to Witchita. That would be slightly less lame than driving a Prius there, however.
I spoke to Zucker last week and he stated the lockdown was one contributing factor. That’s unfortunate. That’s the only one I’d actually gone to. I’d wondered what happened to it.
I was thinking you were in between.I wouldn't disagree. Maybe someone who lives in Wichita (note: I live near KC, not Wichita) could organize such an event.

Wichita has been on my list for a while. It’d be awesome to have an event there.
@RyanB a RR subforum would be nice... would be extra nice if some kind mc member could collect the previous threads into it
@Ted a Wichita fly in might connect the midwest and east coasters with the more westerly folks. Lots of aviation history there. Just sayin.
@zayerpaul we need a winter gulf coast fly in. Panama city springs to mind
Props to @eman1200 for making RR what it is and @masloki for not letting Gaston's die.
It feels like we're getting more people who are interested in actually flying places, not just talking about flying on the internet.

Right now with an 18kt headwind it’s 4 hrs on the dot in the Arrow II (Optimum altitude @141 KTAS)@kaiser 3.75 via Mooney? That’s zippy for almost 500 miles.

6Y9 was (and still is).. well... 6Y9 (#iykyk), Windwood seemed like a good up-and-comer. It seemed like there were PoA planned fly-ins in nearly every month of the year.
FWIW ---6Y9 is not limited to just PoA pilots/connections. Though it started out that way, and we are grateful for the early PoA support, we have pilots and non-pilots that know nothing about PoA. Some may find out about PoA after everyone mixes and mingles, but we have a varied group, and those that return year after year to support our efforts, have made a lot of nice friendships.
So CJones-- when are you coming back?

Sure. But look at the sub-forums where the recurring fly-ins happen and the ones that get attention/people plan to attend far in advance. Winwood only happened a couple times and hasn’t in years. AOPA open house? Did anyone even go to that? Not sure if Wings is still happening but AdamZ hasn’t been around in a long while. Meanwhile Rough River should have its own sub-forum as an established one.
I won’t fly to any of them anyway since I’m retired from flying and if I show up to anything, it’ll be on a motorcycle or in the RV40. Or both. But Bryan’s comment that there should be more organized ones I think is very true and has for some time.
YES to 1K1!!!
Stearman field is freaking awesome.
2 hour flight for me.
I’m here Ted I’m just a shy and reserved kind of guy
9 HRS :-(Lets do it!
Better get started!9 HRS :-(
IKRBetter get started!
A little over 4hrs for me. At least one Gatoraide bottle, probably two!
The little ones, or the large mouth bottle?
If there was a 1K1 fly-in, I'd definitely fly up from 1K2 for that......if I have a plane.
Moonanza, of course. What are you looking for?
He should at least get a twin engine

Ok, so I talked to @SixPapaCharlie last night and we agreed we need another POA fly in. Rough River fall edition?
