Soooo..............

When you gonna follow the kids and move down here to the promised land?
They asked the same thing. :D I'll have to visit a few more times before deciding, but we're open to it some day in the future. Atlanta seems to be a VERY busy place! Busier than we like.

How far is Atlanta from where you live?

I got to this party late..

Looks like all the 'cool' people are driving the 26' Penske's these days... This was our move from Iowa to Atlanta Dec 2009. I think we lost the last of the snow/ice off the truck and trailer somewhere around Nashville.
Gosh, how was it driving that big thing in the snow and ice??? Did it have good traction?

Are you glad you moved to Atlanta? Do you miss the snow and cold?

It isn't too bad it you get outside of the metro area. We are ~45mins south of downtown Atlanta and it isn't too bad at all unless you are on a main highway during rush hour. We're looking to go even further out to get even slower paced.

It wasn't bad at all. Loaded with all our stuff and the weight of the Jeep on the trailer gave it more traction than a standard car. The truck must have spent most of its life in the midwest because it had deep tread tires on it. I drove overloaded semi's on snow/ice for a few years so I had been through it before. ha.

We're definitely happy about the move. Summers are hot, but it's worth it for not having months of non-stop snow. There's some really pretty country in this area, too. A couple hours drive north of ATL you can be in the mountains. A few hours drive east and you can be on the beach.

I live 23 miles outside the perimeter highway om the East side. Pretty calm out here. I live almost next door to a monastery, dang monks get up and ring those bells at 4AM sometimes.
If you really want calm, and a nice little airport check out Madison, ~~ 45 minutes East of the perimeter. Happens to be where I keep the ugly 172.
