Reschedule— KDKX Fly-in Oct 13 [Lunch @ Calhoun’s on the River]

We tried this back in June and it was a wash due to the weather conditions on the day of the fly-in. We talked about doing a reschedule towards the fall, so here it is.

@RDUPilot and I are thinking about Oct 13. Plan would be to meetup at DKX around noon and then Uber over to Calhoun’s on the River for lunch. Hopefully the temps will be warm enough to sit out and have lunch on the patio.

Any suggestions welcome!

There is only one day scheduled for the plane in October so far and it's Oct. 20. Unbelievable.

Urg! And here I thought a month and a half in advance would be plenty of time for people to make arrangements. Maybe you can ride shotgun with someone else?
 
 
I'd be in but that's SERFI and camping plane side trumps!

Yeah, might be able to work that out. A lot of people here from the Atlanta area.
 
Call the city FBO once you have a number. They are very accommodating for those kinds of events and may offer a deal on the fuel price. Also, if they know that 20+ extra aircraft will show up, they can keep an extra line guy around to make things happen.

Oh, and I have the plane that weekend. And my wife has some girls event that I need an excuse to get out of.
 
To be aware - UT hosts Alabama on the 20th, so in addition to crowds, you’re almost certainly dealing with a stadium TFR too. Game time is not set yet.
 
Due to the UT v. Bama game, we have opted to change the date to the week before (Oct 13).

Hopefully this date still works for everyone!

@BrianNC I know you were having trouble with the 20th.

Just not my month. I'm in FL on vacation from the 5th to the 15th. lol.
 
I'm a definite maybe.. Will have a better answer in a couple weeks.
 
Plane is scheduled but I can’t confirm just yet. Might have other aviation related plans that weekend.
 
I should be good weather permitting.

To be honest, I totally forgot about this. There’s a chance that I may be going down to Wings over North Georgia on the 13th, so y’all might have to drive ship without me. Will update shortly.
 
I'm planning to attend the Thomasville, GA fly-in that weekend.

Have no plane, but could ride up if it happens. Tentatively in!
 
I’ll probably go to the seaplane splash-in on the river near HKY on Saturday even though I don’t have a seaplane.
