So, finished Gleim's CFO 8/24 and received the plastic hard copy today, so a little over 2 months to get the hard plastic copy.

Now, I retired from the Air Force in '88 and haven't been a controller since. Now for some reason, in addition to my CFI Cert, the FAA sent me a CTO (control tower operator) Cert as well, with my last CT that I was checked out in. Think I'll go down there next week and go to work. Maybe they'll pay me too.

Few weeks ago finally got my medical processed and had applied for a Second Class. That arrived as
a First Class certificate.

So, something going on out there. Guess they're not looking closely at what they're processing.

Sounds like you're in business. I hear the airlines are hiring if you get bored enough...

Change of address vs the old CTO?

Ahh maybe that was it, except I never had a plastic one. Ahh well, too old for airlines, guess I can go work Maxwell AFB tower though, that what it says on the back.

Yeah. They last forever for some reason. If you've had more than one Facility Rating it'll just show your last one. I wouldn't be goin to Maxwell and be flashin that thing around. They might put a uniform on you, slap a gun in your hand and put you in some toy tower out in the middle of a desert halfway around the world where talkin about B*****s can get ya locked up.

Were you working Maxwell tower in 88? I did my checkride at the Aero club there 1/31/88.

I was there, but I wasn't a "full time" controller at Maxwell. I was an advisor to a Combat Comm ANG Sq, and I arranged an agreement for the guard controllers to work Maxwell for experience, even though it's a slow boring CT. The Chief Controller agreed as long as I was in the tower when the guard guy/girls were up there, so that why I got checked out.

But in '88 I was instructing at Wetumpka, and had built up a good student load.

Yeah, guess the AF is politically correct now and no more boob talk. Guess I better stay away, you're right.

I actually know where Wetumpka is.........:rolleyes1::lol::lol:

It was a cool airport when I was there. But enough about me.

No. Really was, active EAA Chapter, jumpers, ultralights, 9/27 paved, 18/36 grass. Think there were some smoking grass too, down thar at the jump zone.

I was engaged to a girl in Prattville for a few years, so I am familiar with where some places like Wetumpka, and even Sylacauga are.

Ever drink at Carl's Country in P'ville? Crazy place, kinda on the refneck side. Flew a Cheyenne II out of there.

No, I was a good boy in Prattville. Her father was sheriff in Autauga county for many years so I had to behave.
