And you are buying that huge trailer that will carry umpteen bazillion pounds for why?now you're making some sense.
And you are buying that huge trailer that will carry umpteen bazillion pounds for why?now you're making some sense.
Water being slung by the rain is a lot different than completely submerging the entire axle and drum. I'd love if it there were a viable drum electric brake option for a boat trailer that was rated for fresh water use...I'd buy them...any clue where I can find such a thing? So far I haven't been able to.The failure of the electrics on boats is a bigger issue with salt water boating which makes the brake components corrode quickly. Fresh water isn't much of a problem as it's not much different than driving in the rain/through puddles. That salt is the bane of many a boat trailer!
Didn't you say you're only good for about 4 days of boondocking or does that place have hookups?

Kid... it sounds to me like you need to find something in your life that is going to make you happy. I've read your posts and you don't sound too happy.
Same goes for you Salty... you don't sound too happy with your life either. I guess by berating others (not only me) for their ambitions or goals, it must make you feel better for your own short comings. That's the way I read you anyways.
Now you're making some sense.

He's never done anything yet, but he knows why everyone that has is doing it wrong.I mean come on...you can't honestly blame folks for questioning your truthfulness. Quite frankly, I don't think there is a single person on here who would disagree. You went on and on and tried to sell everyone on the idea that you were going to do a 1500 NM solo XC (which no sane CFI would ever sign you off for). Then once you got your PPL you would buy a bush plane and land wherever you well pleased to and then proceed to mine enough gold to fill up the back of your Carbon Cub. Now you claim your going to sell your house and buy a Renegade with a double stacker for 300K. To top it off your going to have every toy imaginable in the back as well as every tool needed to fix the rig when it breaks down. Oh and you keep calling it "my rig" as if you bought one already. Lol. Let's learn to walk before you run.
Your stories/excuses/etc don't really add up. Not hard to see from your post history. Sorry man. Your a hell of an actor though. You play the part well, I'll give you that.
Then you will reside in the right lane with all the other overloaded trucks, and camp on hard pavement like the Walmart parking lot.Cause I'll have a "bazillion" pounds of stuff that I'll be carrying.
Gotta remember dude... I'll be a full-timer... not a camper. So your talking carrying my entire house (pots/pans, appliances, computers, business equipment, etc.) and all the contents (toys, tools, welder, air compressor, etc.) of my garage with with me also.
I have a weird sense of humor.. can't help my self, and remember I use this page as entertainment.I mean honestly...read this whole thread. It is seriously comical. I'm amazed Tom still responds to any of your posts.
Camp remote -- cross it off your bucket list.
Walmart parking lot is as remote as you'll ever be.

or spend 40-60 bucks per night for a camp ground that has full hook up.
When you take it off the hard roads, call me I want to watch the tow truck pull you out..LOL... I think you'd be surprised where those rigs can go.
Oh WoW ! what happened to the brags about the big engine horse power and how you will be able to stay out of the truck lanes? If the slow lane is where I'll end up, then so be it. I'm not in any big hurry to get anywhere anyways.
LOL... I think you'd be surprised where those rigs can go.
Ahhhh... so me wanting to get my PPL and buy a used Carbon Cub to use as a gold prospecting tool has you upset. It appears my also wanting to live in an RV has you upset also. Like I said kid... you seriously need to re-evaluate your own life and do whatever it is that is going to make you happy, rather than berating others for their goals. Life is way too short to be unhappy!

I plan all of our trips and camping with a purpose in mind, When I go to the kids for Christmas I don't take the boat, we will tow the jeep. when I go fishing I'll carry the boat and tow the Jeep. When I'mgoing to fetch a project I tow the flat bed. Much more versatile that an 1 Hugh box trailer.
When you take it off the hard roads, call me I want to watch the tow truck pull you out..
In all my years camping I've never seen a Super C off road. there is a reason for that. (you'll soon discover)

In the past year and 5 months I got my PPL, did a full aerobatic course (and got published in the Sport Aerobatics magazine for my article), a free hour in a Pitts S-2C because of it, and 3/4 of the way through my Instrument Rating. I think I am doing just fine.
Or your PPLPost some pics when you get the new rig
Or your PPL
Or a signoff for a XC
Or any training flight even
C'mon I believe him.
I bet you do lol. Maybe you can call him up and get a ride on his new rig.
Naw, I'm gonna teach him to fly.
Thelma and Louise style.Naw, I'm gonna teach him to fly.
The tell tale sign is that he personally attacks folks when you even begin to hint that he might be full of it.
Your weight and size eliminates 75% of the national parks, and most of the state and national forest's camp grounds.
You talk about camping remote, but the roads all have weight restrictions that you'll exceed easy.
The picture shown is Conconully State park. you'll not make it thru the gate. beautiful and free Labor day thru Memorial Day.
and some very good fishing and water skying (summers) many of this type camp ground will not take you.
This is a hydro electric project near Concrete Wa. best of water sports in the summer, Memorial Day thru Labor Day, $7.50 per day. water but no electric, no dumping, free the rest of the year, couple hundred miles of snow machine trails in Cascade park, there is about 4 feet of snow in the park now, but when you decide to come up. please call me, I want to watch you put chains on that Super C and trailer.
LOL... yeah kid, you better take cover from all my "personal attacks" against you. Quite being such a snowflake.
I don't plan on hitting up all the national or state parks Tom. If I do, they'll be day trips on my motorcycle or something. If I'm not staying on farms/ranches throughout the Rocky Mt. area, I'll be probably be boondocking on BLM land looking for gold.
LOL... I know my limitations. Sounds fun though. I've got family/friends up in the Seattle and Bellingham area. I plan on making a trip up there eventually and visiting them.
Concrete Wa.
Can I call you old man? Yea old man get off my lawn
Hey you could visit @Tom-D while you're up that way!
I am an old man! Even have my AARP card.
Yeah, he can show me everything I'm doing wrong.
I have ARRP too lol. Yeah you and Tom can compare rigs, and stories.

Between that and my military ID, it's pretty nice being able to take advantage of all the discounts that are offered.
I have one of dem too, USAF, Tom has one from the Navy. See, the two of you can bond and tell war stories while your comparing rigs.
I don't have any war stories. I was in the ANG and climbed telephone poles or ran a switchboard. Not exactly all that exciting.
I joined when Iran had our hostages and they first started the selective service registration. I figured if s**t was going to go down, I'd rather be deployed with my hometown buddies rather than somebody I didn't know. We were never deployed.Guess you were in when the ANG wasn't deployed much. They have been since the Gulf War though, to this day. So these fellas will have some good ones!
No, they quite the registration process not long after the Vietnam war. Then when the Iran hostage situation came about there was serious talk of starting the draft up once again. They started the selective service registration process, so I just went on ahead and joined the ANG and figured I'd get my "military duty" out of the way regardless.I believe selective service was effective way before the Iran hostage deal. Like 1917! There were different versions throughout time. You were probably in the 1948 version.
Dually changed my towing world forever. Love all that torque and a stick shift, but forget that it’s not the fifth wheel back there and I can’t just floor it.
