PP Lands King Air when pilot dies

It's always been one of my fantasies...I mean, excluding the death of another person, but to be called upon to land something like that...

LOL. I remember when I received my paramedic certification how excited I was at the thought of being ready to respond on a commercial flight..."if there is a doctor or medical professional on board, please ring your attendant call button."

That didn't last very long, and the one time it finally happened, it was "ah chrissake isn't there a MD on board?"

I was flying with a friend of mine in the Aztec last year, all he's ever flown was Cherokees. He's an instrument rated pilot, flies instruments a lot, but had never spent any time in a plane with retractable gear or more systems to deal with than a typical trainer has.

A few hours into the flight he said to me: "You know that fantasy that every pilot has about being in a jet and having to land it? Yeah, I now realize I would totally kill everyone on board."

I think he was being a bit hard on himself, but it was pretty funny.
