Ack...city life
We've heard the talk that POA is like the front porch. The twist I wish to emphasize is the depth of the glimpses into each other's lives. The 'POA experience' has been much more than a sharing of knowledge; it's been and is a very real sharing of lives.

We've met in person, we've seen people born and we've seen them die. And we've seen people grow. And it is all those myriad of things which you would more commonly assign to being in a family. It is unique because this familiarity is more than a catch phrase. I think it wouldn't be too far flung to say one may count more friends from POA then anywhere else in real life(RL). I guess that means the way POA has evolved has so much in common with RL that the two become the one.

Jesse and Tristan buying a house is my impetus for this thread and it got me thinking of how much has transpired since Chuck started POA. Maybe we should thank AOPA for when they shut down the old board.

Well said indeed.......

Added to those things:
Flew Henning across the USA
Witnessed the amazing restoration of Tom Downey's Fairchild.
Turned Gaston's into a national event.
Are currently watching the birth of a new RV kit plane.

Well said.

Lots of good friends here. And like any family, a rare one or two black sheep.

Uncle Edwin from Mississippi always came to the family reunions but often went back to his room to brush his teeth. We (kids in the family) thought he must have the cleanest teeth of anyone we knew, and were sure that he must have been telling the truth because his breath always smelled funny (kinda like Listerine, maybe) when he got back from brushing.

It is an interesting place. I've met several really good people from here. Anybody heard from Carol in the recent past? How is she?
