At one point I was ignoring everyone on POA.
When I clicked on this thread I was sure it was going to be similar to a linkedin email blast with names and pictures of everyone I know but hadn't connected with yet. I'm glad I don't know anyone here.

I'm not looking at insider information. Haven't you noticed that people write that they have someone on ignore yet reply to them anyway? They must either see a quoted post or get curious and open a post from someone they are ignoring.

The ignore list is not some etched in stone document. You can turn individuals on and off.
I have a few that are permanently on ignore (most if not all of those ended up getting banned or left POA anyway) and then a few that I put in the penalty box for various reasons. I'll occasionally unblock them to see if they have changed their tune - actually contributed something useful. Occasionally someone might get on my ignore list because we both needed a break from each other and later I discovered that they actually do contribute something worthwhile.
Most of the time, the unblocking simply confirms why I put them on ignore in the first place.

Interesting. I had never tried to put anyone on the ignore list until just now when I ignored you (then unignored you). I knew the ignore feature was reversible but I didn't know that the software would allow me to ignore someone since I am a mod. I'm pretty sure people can't ignore me except in the old fashioned way which I'm sure they do.

I always forget about that. I didn't write the system nor want it to do that.
I've requested the podcast sub forum (that we never really used before the podcast died), which triggers that buggy behavior, be removed.
I have no desire to keep censorship-minded and easily-offended folk, who need buttons to maintain their own self-control, from their heart's desires to block me.
I assume it is kept around for technical reasons or something. Hell if I know.
You're only the second person who's ever mentioned it. The other person complains about a lot more here than that, so I'll assume I'm the least of his long list of perceived problems caused by the Internet. Haha.
But I think you missed the joke. We all "ignore" each other at least 8 hours a day or so, when sleeping. And more like 22-23 hours a day. And many days we don't even log in. Mark those up for 24 hours of "ignore". Haha.
