Plane Re-registration

Has anyone here re-registered their plane lately? Mine expires 7/31/14. I'm trying to get a feel for how much lead time I need to give our FAA paper pushers.

I answered this in the other thread you asked. You should about 90 days out get a "renewal code" that lets you renew fairly instantly online. If you wait past the window (I think 60 days out), you have to renew by mail. That tends to run about five weeks (perhaps longer with the furlough backlog).

I just got my renewal letter from the FAA today.. I can't renew till Jan 1 and my plane registration expires in May...

Make sure you set a reminder or do something to make sure it gets done online when the window opens.

Online, it's a piece of cake (like a few minutes and a credit card).
If you miss the window, it's painful.

DO NOT miss the window.
