..... And Karmala is even driving up to my overnight tomorrow afternoon and we're gonna rent a car and go spend the day watching my Razorbacks play Texas A&M. Hopefully she'll want a second date too.

Kim, I learned patience is a virtue and when looking for the right person you have to be picky. Hopefully we both are on a great road now

It's a fishing community where the population swells in the summer months: families who have been coming to their vacation homes for generations. Nearly 70 well-known artists live here, including Dahlov Ipcar, whose children's books may be in your library.

"eHarmony." Then there's always "aCoiffure." ????? Patronize a variety of hair salons; take your own reading material: Flying; AOPA Pilot; Trader Plane to read while being coiffed. Bet that'll get some inquiries.

That's great news, Bob. Good luck with what sounds like your first date, even though I thought you spent the day with her before and took pictures? Regardless, that's cool she is into sports.

I am not on eHarmony anymore! I told you, we are going to try and make this work.

Also, I ALWAYS brought the "Airplane Flying Handbook" or "Flight Training Magazine" to my hair color appointments. The owners of the salon are two men (yes, it is SF) and they would talk to me about flying. They fly those motorized parachute things all over the world and have even walked up to an ATC tower in another country before landing there - knocked on the door - and said "can we land here?" Apparently, when you do that they let you land on airport.....

He is VERY worth it though that has nothing to do with him being an engineer.

And I've already lived with him for many years in the past so I know what you mean. The house would get so full of "toys". Mostly things with motors or things that carved holes into other things or things with computers that designed other things which then got holes cut into them. Heck he even designed and manfactured in the house while I was there an aircraft panel for a vintage restored plane years ago!!!

Ooh, Ooh. Have I got an idea for you. Get "him" to build you an airplane. Something like an RV-6 (or RV-12 if you want a light sport). From what you've posted I'll bet he'd get so wrapped up in that project he'd have it completed in less than a year with your help. Talk about a win/win. It's an excuse to spend a lot of time together, he'll have a great time, and you end up with a nice airplane on the cheap.

I already came up with better than that.... Screw the build, it takes forever and costs more. He can just buy her an RV-4 instead of an engagement ring. They can have the wedding in a hangar and fly off at the end....:D

Two out of three of these describes Ted. Substitute "He loves Laurie" for "He loves Kim".

Edit: The three terms just struck me as funny, that's all.

Wow. I just read that whole thread. Took an hour. Only thing I ever learned looking for love is, you usually find it when not looking for it.

1920 posts in, oh lets say, 120 days (June through Sept) avg 16 posts a day, some of them really long....Here's an idea: take a break, shut down the computer for a while, get out of the house, and you'll find good guys in the real world to be with. Everyone I know who dealt with those on-line dating things walks away disappointed. You can do better than those places offer. YMMV

I told you - I already found someone! The someone I've known and been with and even lived with for the better part of six years!

We just spent some quality time together this weekend, too. It was fun. I am not online (eHarmony) anymore.

It was "special" to me because he had NEVER been inside a small plane. That look on his face - priceless. When he saw that property they own, and asked me if we could stay and take photos, and I said yes - and when I was able to "check out" everything he and I were interested in - FUN!!! There was this quarry we thought was on Mythbusters, there was an airport I wanted to land at (and did) and much much more.

Just a joy of a flight.

(except those darned marine layers - if absent, I would have flown the coast back up North).
