Has anyone used any software to build a panel to see what it look like online? If so what company?

You can go to hangarflying.com and play around with their panel builder. You'll need to sign up for a (free) account but they have a pretty good selection of panels and avionics to try. It's not something you could use to have a panel cut, but it's a step up from doodling with a pencil.

Ok thank you could you see what your panel would look like in your specific aircraft

You can select the appropriate panel for your aircraft type and then create it. Should give you a good sense of the rough layout.

One thing you can do: At Oshkosh, you can go to Garmin's booth and they have packages of stickers that are actual size versions of all their stuff. They're not super sticky, they come right off so you can put them on your panel and move them around:

We use CAD to design everything, but 1mileup.com seems decent.
Jeez... $495 for an owner to play around with. Unfortunately, seems to be par for the course which is why I haven't bought any of these products.

Doodling has commenced. :D Thanks!

That is a neat software thanks for sharing. Is there a way I can print it

I would just use the snipping tool in Windows to get an image of it, which I could then either print or attach to an email if I wanted my avionics guy to look at it. There is also an Export link at the top of the page which will allow you to download an image and also an equipment list of what you have in the panel.

Thank you

A slight warning on the Hangar Flying panel builder, some of the sizes are slightly off. So your avionics shop may need to tweak things to get them to fit as you plan.

I used them for the basic layout, then worked with my shop to lay out the actual panel. And I had to change some things to get things to fit.
