Does anyone have a paint shop in NC/SC/GA that actually wants some business? I can't get a single shop to call me back, let alone a quote via email. I'm looking to get my 172 repainted white with some colored decals, nothing special. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

My club is getting our NC based 172 painted this year at a place in Pennsylvania. I'll get you the name. We labored over the decision for a long time. This place offered the best combo of reputation, cost (23K) and availability.

Smoketown, PA is the shop that lots of people use and they do good work.

I had my Navion painted by a homeless guy who moved into my hangar for a while. It's a real nice job, but I'd not recommend that.

Just out of curiosity what are they giving you with that?

What about touching up the leading edge? Basically on the pilot side wing and horizontal stabilizer.

It was until it got time to get him to move along. The guy was strange. If he had an ounce of ambition he'd be making a ton of money. His work is perfect. He also got my rototiller that I've not used in years running so he could get it out of the way of his operation. Did some work on my air compressor and other stuff as well. He was dumped on me by one of the other airpark owners and I dispatched him to yet another who finally ran him off the field.
