It's just the latest virtue signal du jour. An attempt at distancing from the "gryder" accusation, while still monetizing their pre-existing following in as transactional a manner as the latter. It's the equivalent of MSM broadcasting empty podiums during the 2016 election year. Many of the aviation youboobers have been doing it, so it's not unique to him.

Watching danny boy tune his geetar with a face that went 30 seconds with Iron Mike, and an entire scafolding holding his lower body together, affords me higher entertainment value if I'm being honest.
