Oops at KAPA today

Classic first flight with the Mother-in-law. As airspeed bleeds off in the flare, aileron authority is overcome by the lateral weight imbalance, wingtip gets scuffed.

Wait are you saying there were two people in the plane, one really fat one on one side, and one really skinny one on the other side?

Something like that...

Based on the first 4 frames shown, I'm guessing the Tiger pilot was caught by surprise by a gust from an unexpected direction. It happens- wind shadow, or just a shift from one side to the other.
Look at the aileron position- looks like it rolled to the right (or continued rolling to the right) despite full left aileron, not because he was trying to put the right wing down. But maybe he was just already too slow for good aileron effectiveness...?

I vote for the latter. ;)

Just poor technique. A little more speed and a stalled wing or gust is not an issue. Just came in too slow. The mechanical turbulance is predictable based on winds and building locations. Landing longer down the runway maybe have been a better choice? JMHO.
