Obtaining A&P part time?

I have been looking into Building an experimental and the less fun part of my brain is telling me that with a similar amount of time invested, and a similar amount of money, I could get an A&P and purchase an already built RV-7 vs building one. Obviously this will not be the same feeling of flying a plane that I built, but I am wondering if it is even possible to do while working a full-time job.

Are there any A&P programs out there that can be done part-time, around a work schedule?

Some community colleges in the past had a night class A&P course but from what I remember they were mostly in large urban locations. However, most require a weekly attendance. Check your state's CC system. Plus CCs are the cheapest way vs places like Spartan.

From what I could tell when I looked into it, it’d take 18 months of 8 x 5 unless you can get someone willing to sign you off for the practical, which you probably can’t.

FYI: By going the Part 147 route the A&P curriculum requirements are in hours vs months. I believe it was something like 2000hrs to finish the school plus time for the tests. There was a CC in the NYC area that allowed students to go in 4 hour segments at night but that was years ago. No clue if still offered today. But the 147 route is definitely faster than the practical experience route of 30 months plus tests.
