NOTAM: Rapture coming on Saturday

Why did I bother going to recurrent this week? :dunno:

I hope they leave their doors unlocked so I can go in and take stuff.

Is all this going down at 6p ZULU? CDT?? EDT?
6PM local time. It's a rolling rapture. Pretty sure it's already supposed to have started. I've heard nothing yet.

Me thinks it would be even better if they would be able to predict when the price of avgas would return to under, oh lets say, $3.00/gallon. OH WAIT: If the world ends, and the demand for avgas is basically eliminated, supply would far outweigh demand, and the price would fall rapidly...then I could actually afford to fly to heaven in the moment of rapture....awesome!

Just got this picture from a friend overseas

Watch out it is coming this way!!!!!

Thank you, bible thumpers need to read all of it before opening mouths
I read ALL of it, that is why I am no longer a Christian. I still believe in God, Just not in ANY man made texts. ( and all texts are man made). I find very few so called Christians that actually know what the bible really says. I have a blast with the Mormon "elders" that knock on my door. I teach them the bible.
I start with a basic question. You can too. Ask a bible thumper how many of each animal Noah took on the Ark. Very few people get this right. The correct ANSWER, from the bible is that he took the clean animals by SEVENS. and the unclean by two's. If a Christian cannot correctly answer a BASIC question then they obviously are not qualified to discuss more complex bible subjects. Reverend Dave. (yes I really am) P.S. The end of times has been predicted in almost every generation. nothing new here.. move along people.

Me too, several times over (and twice on Sundays :rolleyes2: )

And if *that's* your test of orthodoxy -- wow, just wow.

That benchmark is ludicrous. It's simply a question that belongs in the triva bucket, much like knowing the shortest verse in the Bible.

If someone doesn't know how many exemptions there are to the FOIA, does that mean they cannot understand the FOIA?

Which is more important, knowing the ten commandments by heart or knowing and applying the greatest commandment?

how many of each animal Noah took on the Ark.

Assuming it ever happened, how many of each is irrelevant. Two, seven, 50, one, who cares. How many total? Exceed the displacement of the boat and down it goes, glug glug.

Even as a kid I always wanted to see weight and balance numbers as well as dimensions of that boat. All the classic pictures of that contraption means just the food alone for 40+ days would have left it sitting on the ground as the water rose up around and over it.

And, um, are we dead yet? Just curious.

“But concerning that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father only. "

Matthew 24:36

The best part is that it happens at 6PM in each time zone. Who wouldda guessed that God and Noah would schedule such an important event by the time conventions invented by railroads in the 1800's?

Only if the animals were full grown.

Well the dinosaurs brought onto the ark were probably only teenagers or young adults according to this resource

http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/2000/04/03/dinosaurs-on-noahs-ark

How Did Those Huge Dinosaurs Fit on the Ark?

Although there are about 668 names of dinosaurs, there are perhaps only 55 different “kinds” of dinosaurs. Furthermore, not all dinosaurs were huge like the brachiosaurus, and even those dinosaurs on the Ark were probably “teenagers” or young adults.
Creationist researcher John Woodmorappe has calculated that Noah had on board with him representatives from about 8,000 animal genera (including some now-extinct animals), or around 16,000 individual animals as a maximum number. When you realize that horses, zebras, and donkeys are probably descended from the horse-like “kind,” Noah did not have to carry two sets of each such animal. Also, dogs, wolves, and coyotes are probably from a single canine “kind,” so hundreds of different dogs were not needed.
According to Genesis 6:15 , the Ark measured 300 x 50 x 30 cubits, which is about 510 x 85 x 51 feet, with a volume of about 2.21 million cubic feet. Researchers have shown that this is the equivalent volume of over 500 semitrailers of space. 1
Without getting into all the math, the 16,000-plus animals would have occupied much less than half the space in the Ark (even allowing them some moving-around space).

Sounds like this assumes two of every animal.

And lo, it came to pass that Macho Man Randy Savage prevented the rapture and the end of the world.

I'd say that was the previous owner of my wagon but mine is a Sable.

It better not happen today. We finished in second place for the day - which is just first in a long line of loosers. If we had won, then it would have been OK.

That's great, it starts with an earthquake,
birds and snakes, an aeroplane
Lenny Bruce is not afraid....

Hey.....I'm still here and its 16 after.

Sorry but if you don't know the basic's you're just not an expert. and I have tons more simple questions that most get wrong. I can play this game with you for longer than you will want to play. I can tell by the defensive tone i hit the nerve i wanted. and you obviously missed it. Next you will tell me a good pilot doesn't need to know basic pilot skills. I stand by my statement that if you do not know the basic's you are not an expert and should not be trying to teach others. I apply those same standards to every phase of my life . I try to learn from real experts that actually know their subject throughly. Experts who don't skip or ignore the basic's. Dave

The ten are of the old law that Jesus fulfilled. Jesus gave you six commandments to enter into eternal life. Matt 19:17-19 Yes I know the two. Honor Your God & honor your Brother, but most people need a bit more detail on how to be a decent human being. Notice that the Six Jesus repeats do not include the ban on Idolatry, making graven images like wearing a cross or hanging pictures of "Jesus" OK. another overlooked passage.

A text without context is a pretext.

I wonder if I'm missing something here.

"If you don't know the basic's."
"if you do not know the basic's."
"Experts who don't skip or ignore the basic's."

The "basic's" what? That apostrophe which appears repeatedly must mean there's some possession associated with "basic." Am I missing something important , or is it that "you are not an expert and should not be trying to teach others" about written expression?

Always drink upstream from the herd.

PS: And the law of unintended consequences strikes again.

I was just wondering what NASA has planned for the folks on the space station. Return to earth maybe futile.

Also, the original Biblical definition of a day was "evening and morning, the first day." I'll go so far as to say I think that there's plenty of evidence for a worldwide flood, and that Noah was a real person. I'm just sad that a fringe group is making Christianity look so dumb, when in reality, it is NOT following certain key tenants of orthodoxy.
