So the just of it it is I have never been told by my primary or any DR for that matter that I had a alcohol problem....every year lab works show perfect liver,kidneys ETC...So I like to drink a few after work, no big deal right? Well I took mom to the ER for at the time unknown complications....while waiting in the ER stand a sign that say "NEW VISION" let us taper you off with no withdrawl symptoms.....well we all know after weeks of drinking your gonna have some sort of symptoms, be it shaky hands or nausea or what have you.....the sign says strictly confidential ..

So I go for it because IF symptoms get to bad you can die, not that I thought I was that bad off...get in there and my electrolytes are a little out of whack so they give me a banana bag (vitamins and nutrients) So If I voluntarily did this how if the heck is this gonna play out....all labs still perfect,BP 110/74....

FWIW this wasnt rehab, I came and went as I pleased

thank you in advance to referring me to DR Lou ....lol

8 bottles to the throttle, or something like that.

Joking aside, plenty of people like to drink and they're not alcoholics. On the other hand, many are and don't know it or are in denial.

As far as it 'playing out', the rules state;

91.17 Alcohol or drugs.
(a) No person may act or attempt to act as a crewmember of a civil aircraft—

(1) Within 8 hours after the consumption of any alcoholic beverage;

(2) While under the influence of alcohol;

(3) While using any drug that affects the person's faculties in any way contrary to safety; or

(4) While having an alcohol concentration of 0.04 or greater in a blood or breath specimen. Alcohol concentration means grams of alcohol per deciliter of blood or grams of alcohol per 210 liters of breath.

If you were in detox, you're going to need an evaluation. No way you get issued without it. And since you are obviously not impressed with expert advice...

I am more worried about what is going to be in my medical record....Is it going to involve HIMS AME hoops to jump through?

If you were referring to my DR Lou comment it was all in fun, I do plan on consulting with him.....I hear he is one of the BEST

Since none of us can tell how good or bad you are with the internet between us, why don’t you visit your friendly local AME for a consultation? Then you will know...

going to consult with Dr Martin to get some questions answered and then from what I am told I will see Dr Lou if possible

You are an alcoholic.

He’ll give you the most correct answer. Whether you agree with it or not is up to you.

It is my experience that if you ever ask, “Am I an alcoholic?” - the answer is probably yes.

I disagree. If you ask yourself then you probably aren’t. If others are asking, then you probably are.

I nor has anyone ever asked me...but everyone even Dale is entitled to their opinion and I respect opinions regardless of my views of them

In my humble opinion... you should, and yes, others are. When your drinking gets you to the point where you need IV treatment, it's wayyyyyy past a casual drink or two now and then.
