NA Mom, I'm suing. NA

In 2009, the children, represented by three attorneys including their father, Steven A. Miner, sued their mother

The downside to marrying a lawyer?

Don't blame lawyers; blame two willing plaintiffs and their vindictive dad. Pathetic.

Spike, I have great respect for a majority in the legal profession. But this guy was lawyer and dad....scum, the others are scum too in my opinion. Would you have taken that case? Anyway, it all worked out correctly. I'll be glad when it gets a little cooler......perhaps then I can fly more.

Must be something in the Barrington water. That's also where the older women got busted for breaking the TFR in her cub. My home office for GE is there so I travel to the area and have noticed the high number of McMansions in the area.

Lawyers are partially to blame as well for these type of lawsuits.

"I was only following orders" is no defense.

Judge: Bailiff, line up those kids in front of the bench!
Bailiff: Yes, your honor.

Judge then proceeds with this:

Then the judge turns to the dad and says:

Lawyers can refuse to accept a case, yes? If they don't, they are also to blame. Maybe if more lawyers said, "Um, no, get out of my face," suits like this would go away.

That dad deserves the return lawsuit for frivolous action.

Amen Bruce! This case is sad ,yes pathetic sad, but also just really sad. I have to wonder if the father at somepoint poisioned the kids' minds, but I guess it really does not matter. Just a sad state of affairs:confused::(

If you've never been sued you don't know that it creates more than just a little stress. You have to admire the mother for still loving her kids after that.

We do not accept cases which we find repugnant.

Y'all did catch that the Plaintiffs' lawyer *was* their dad, didn't you?

There had to be an ugly divorce in this somewhere.

Dear old dad said he resisted his children's desires to sue until he relented. The proper thing would have been him to turn this into a teaching moment starting with knocking their heads together. A parent can still show love for their children by not capitulating to their every desire. In fact, they'll probably respect you the more for it.

It's likely we'll never know but if dad hadn't been a lawyer how likely this would have ever become a suit. He sounds like a real jerk.

That's the fundamental problem. He probably had a long history of capitulating to his kid's every desire.

Maybe he was afraid hey would sue him for being a bad dad.

On a related note...
The Cook County judge who ruled on the case, Kathy Flanagan, declined to assess sanctions against Miner, but said the lawsuit amounted to nothing more than children “suing their mother for bad mothering.”
Me thinks the judge made the wrong decision.
