OK, how come no one has told me about this yet?
probably dangerous, noisy, bad for the environment....but I want one!

I've seen it. Looks impractical, expensive, poor visibility and a maintenance nightmare. I'll take two.

It'll be good up until the point one gets harpooned!! :D

OK, so the engine's air intake is at the top of the dorsal fin? Is that it's porpoise? :) sorry

I'm waiting for the model that can submerge to at least 60 ft (periscope depth) and uses a snorkel.

looks like a lot of IMC without IFR control? Also looks like a ton of fun, until somebody shoots their eye out. :hairraise:

It's a bit like dressing up like a deer on the opening day of hunting season.

Mister Whiskers. Are you advocating unlimited attaks on shipping via a modified Seabreacher?

The Battle of the Atlantic resumes! :D

Suspected first target? Well actually in the Pacific, but you get the picture.

It's price tag is going to limit its popularity unless someone comes up with a lower price or very creative financing for it.

In an area like San Diego, especially Mission Bay, which would more than likely see it used a lot, they will have to share the water with just about everything you can think of that floats except aircraft.

The visibility issue will sooner or later lead to someones death, like a water skier, or a kid in a Sabot. Our fair city will immediately outlaw their use in our waters. They will sit in garages or on trailers in driveways, slowly succumbing to the ravages of the sun and time. Or they they will appear on Craig's list at less than half what those people paid for them simply because all the best places to show off with one will have them outlawed.

A great Idea that will probably fly, for a while.

I was struck by the similarity to our airplanes on your two points when I first read the article.

Like our airplanes, I hope no one restricts the availability or use of these because of the latter.

Yup that pretty much sums it up.

Looks like a hell of a lot of fun but it really has to be the only watercraft on the lake or bay to be used safely.

At the end of the video, the guy who had been doing the most waterbatics did not look a bit like he had any fun. He looked like he had just had the heck beat out of him. He also looked soaking wet. Nope, not smiling one bit.
