we have the bark beetle in our trees and I was wondering about treatments if anyone has any knowledge on the topic
60 Afghan pine, 60 red oak 2-6" diameter

matt michael should be able to help. he's up in madison right now helping out a crop dusting buddy but hopefully he'll check in here. if i talk to him tomorrow ill let him know about this thread and hopefully he can provide some advice.
 
Sorry I'm not going to be much help. Tree biology isn't my best subject, I specialize in climbing. That said, probably the best thing you can do is call the nearest university with an agriculture or forestry department. I'm regularly dropping off samples at Iowa State U extension plant pathology. Heck, you could probably call them but someone in your region is more likely to be familiar with your problem. Major tree services say in Midland/Odessa or El Paso or perhaps Ft Stockton might be of some help but you have to remember that they are going to want your money so might not give you the best advice.,

Does TX have a state forestry dept? We've receive a lot of good help/advice from the VA state forestry.
 
thanks folks; yes Matt current quote is 4AMUs (the big boy amus, too)
in order to address it by a service. Not unfair but I might just have to let them go at that price.

While in the Navy, I had a good friend who was very religious and engaged to a preacher's daughter. He had gone ashore in Monaco after getting off watch at 6AM. He took a bus down to Niece to the beach. No one was around so he just laid back on the beach. Having been awake all night, he fell asleep. Around 10AM, he awoke to being pretty well surrounded by other sunbathers... many of whom were topless women.

I never learned if he told his wife-to-be about this happening. :)
