My plane on google earth

Your aircraft is painted black and the photo was taken at night? Sorry, that's all I see.

You have to zoom in, then a different image appears.

I'm sorry, when I click it I get a picture of the old T hangars at KHSV with my plane on the east side.

It works for me.

I'm sorry but that airport looks to be a huge PITA to fly out of regularly. The drive tot he hangar alone looks miserable. Then a looooong taxi anywhere.

It seems to only show up when you have the (annoying and awful, IMO) "3-D" option turned on.

LOL That reminded me of the Louis CK bit about "everything is amazing....and nobody's happy".
Specifically: "how quickly, the world owes him something he knew existed only 10 seconds ago..." :D

I love that bit. But that 3D "feature" on Google Maps makes everything look like my daughter was painting with fingerpaints.

how does google get to claim earth. that seems a little selfish to me.

It appears somebody doesn't understand the concept of T hangar construction...

Yea, we give the airport allot of crap over that. They could have put in another row if they knew what they were doing.

Not really, I listen to the ATIS while driving from the gate to the hangar and the taxi to the runway (only the west side is open) is enough to warm up the plane prior to the run-up (even in winter).

It's really not. I've flown into HSV for 30+ years in GA and airline, very easy and often not that busy. That long runway on the west side was lengthen for cargo jets operating in and out of there. It just looks intimidating.

I can be viewed on Google Earth too. I'm setting up my tent at Oshkosh 2011 beside my friend's Apache.

Sometimes when I'm bored I scan Google Earth and find things like this whale:

Or this aircraft on approach:

Yeah, no kidding. That's bizarre! They must have had a reason. Maybe not a good one, but that's just completely missing the point.

How's that work? Everything I look at is years old and no movement. Is there a different version? Subscribe in order I would guess?
Nope...just old aerials with still shots of the whales, aircraft, etc...it takes some practice.

Ahh ok. BTW is there a live version at all?

NO, that's why you got a plane so you could go see it for yourself.

But but I don't have a medical. Waiting on the ****ing FAA.
