All UNCLAS. We were working with a F/A-18 out on the Sea Range Pt Mugu. Quality is poor for a number of reasons and its not 1:04 long lol. Don't maximize and if you get bored fwd to 23:50 as we make our approach, feet dry over PT. Hueneme. If there is interest, I have a canyon run out to China Lake thats pretty cool

I'll get the canyon run up on Youtube later and post it up. I just viewed it again after all these years and we covered it all. Over the top of campgrounds at 0800 400/kts, a few victory rolls complete with a 6g break at NAS China Lake. Camera weighed about 100 pounds at that point lol....The driver was showing off for the F/A-18 guys waiting for us on the deck. The shooter blew centerline aux tank seals all over the ramp. We CNX for the day, and had a centerline tank of our own to burn off over Death Valley area on return home. We made that run 4 days in a row

Good times

Then the time with the F-16 Nellis boys dropping dumb bombs that would dispense leaflets at ~1K. Following those down the pipe was a doozy. The AF guys talked about how proud they were to fly on the wing of an old VF bird. Said they have only seen pictures of F-4's in history books

Why were you guys flying the F-4 vs something newer?

That was back in 2001. The F-4's were converted to targets and given the QF-4 type title. Yep, the QF-4 was flown remotely and were used as an aerial target. Broke my heart to watch an AIM-9X spank the Phantom.

Agree! Why do they have to blow 'em up. :(
