Acclaim can do 235 (at altitude)
Ovation can do 180
Is there a Mooney model in-between ie 210?

all speeds approximate.

If you fly an Acclaim at 210K instead of 235K the engine will go many more hours between tops.

Acclaim throttled to less than ludicrous speed.

But ludicrous speed is awesome

How fast do the pressurized Mooneys with TIO-541s go? They only made a handful of them, but if you could find one (and wanted to own something very unique with all that goes with that), could be worthwhile...

You mean the M-22 Mustang? There's only a handful flying. Mooney was a little ahead of the required equipment when they came out with them in the mid-60s. Big planes, too.

This.

In fact, I'd generalize to "Acclaim flown by owner on a real trip rather than sales
/demo guy for a magazine." For any real life, safety conscious, actual owner who doesn't want to die because of a simple O2 system malfunction and would prefer not to buy new cylinders every 500 hours, the acclaim is a 210 kt airplane. That 235 figure is at FL250 (very harsh environment on a human) running at some insane ROP power output. Most real use will be in the high teens, LOP at 75-80% power. That will give you 210 KTAS

You could also look for a Malibu and get a much nicer cabin plus pressurization.

As an Acclaim owner I can vouch for this, except my speeds are a bit lower. I fly high teens and flight plan 200 KTAS LOP and 210 KTAS ROP, and I fly LOP almost all the time.

There is a mustang at our airport. IIRC he qouted 170-175ktas in the mid teens at reasonable power settings.

That's a lot slower than I would've expected. I think the cooling drag on those 541s is pretty bad.
