In a previous thread someone told me, (Without putting that person on blast) that the M10T is on but doing further research I haven't seen anything else out there that is in support of that.

Is it on or not?

I believe it would be great for Mooney and would start them in the right direction especially with a Diesel running 4.5-5.0 GPH on a 44 Gallon tank.

No it’s not. It was a cancelled design, unfortunately.

One of the test pilots recently took it to Texas where they are continuing testing from what he said. I follow him on social media

That’s good news! Last I read, was that the company had decided to discontinue the concept and will use it to learn from for their future projects.

The CEO who canned the project is out. I think it was designed with the Chinese market in mind (hence the diesel). I'd love to see it move forward (more airplanes is always good) but Mooney doesn't have development money selling single digit numbers of aircraft yearly. Perhaps they'll continue to get funding from their Chinese overlords, but I have my doubts. I doubt that money will continue to flow forever.

Like someone posted before and IMO holds true.

Scrap the new builds for now and provide exceptional service and parts for existing airplanes that are out there. Build that and THEN consider new airplanes....but what do I know..:stirpot:

The restart announcement was at Oshkosh AirVenture this year. That is what I posted on another thread, and presume that is what you are referring to above?

Here's an excerpt from the coverage in July. Seems pretty self-explanatory to me.

Mooney International remains committed to developing the M10 single-engined piston for the training market, but the Chinese-owned firm has tossed out the original design and closed the research and development centre that developed it, a top executive said on 25 July.

The M10 was the first new product launched after Minsheng acquired Mooney in 2013. It was unveiled at the Zhuhai air show as a two-seat, composite aircraft powered by Continental diesel engines.

The fate of the programme appeared in doubt last April, however, after the company’s chief executive publicly stated M10 development would be shutdown and the knowledge transferred to a next-generation piston aircraft. CEO Vivek Saxona left Mooney a few weeks later.

“The M10 is something that’s very, very important to our investment group,” Mooney vice-president of marketing Lance Phillips said at the Airventure fly-in.

But he confirmed that the original concept for the M10 has been dropped...

I just wanted to do some research and find out more about the progress and I didn't find anything out there on it. If you google Mooney M10T Wikipedia among others still have it cancelled. I don't know if the word has been sent out properly or not yet.....something that Mooney needs to work on.

Just goes to show you that there's more to research than wikipedia and even google in general.

Good point and well noted. If you are an airplane manufacturer and you want to create buzz to your product don't you think you should get the word out a little bit better?
