Saw the trailer on the Super Bowl. Cruise is doing his own helicopter stunts now.

Very cool that he does that. I'm sure part of it is an ego thing cause it would be a heck of a lot cheaper to just have a stuntpilot do it. But if I had his money and pull I can't say I would do any different lol.

Ya know, I think the man likes to fly. Hope he keeps it real and doesn't get fat wallet thin log book syndrome. Based on just that clip, he seems to respect it. Googled it and it seems he was inspired filming Top Gun and learned to fly.

I seem to recall reading that Nicole gave him a brand new Pitts S-2C for his birthday one year.

Dang.

As much of a douche as Tom Cruise is as a person, he has generally tried to perform most of his stunts. He really does a good job as an actor and stuntman.

I believe he also owns a P-51 among other aircraft.

Wow had no idea he knew how to fly helis like that

Farging son of a bastich got to learn to fly rotors on someone else's dime.

Did you notice him grunting and then talking to himself during the spiral dive? "Pitch! Pitch! Pitch!"

Cruise raced sports cars with SCCA for a while. The running gag was that SCCA stood for "See Cruise Crash Again." Apparently he had too much of a Days of Thunder "rubbin' is racin'" attitude.

A chief steward I used to know told me they finally sat down with him and told him, "Maybe you can afford to wad up a $100k racecar every weekend, but the guys you're crashing into can't. Either clean up your act or find a new hobby."

During the filming of "Days of Thunder', off camera Tom got into a car and did some 180 MPH laps around the track at Charlotte. Although not during the race.

Must be hard to work the pedals .with the lifts in his shoes.
