Training purposes for the most part. They fly under opposing forces in large scale training events. It’s also a very popular aircraft that some of our allies use. For instance Afghanistan started out using them post 9/11. I gotta friend who went from UH-60s to helped train the Afghans in our MI-17s. Then you have Flight Concepts that have a few MIs…well you’d have to ask them what they use them for. ;)
