Saw Doc C a couple weeks ago. Steve S has posted here and there, Dave S has chimed in on a few threads, so have both Lances. Ron L - well, I have my theory about that.

Yeah, I think Ron is the only real MIA.....hmmm maybe we had it wrong on the W&B thread......perhaps Kimberlyanne is really Ron's alter ego. She did join us since he stopped posting........

Then Ron has undergone some serious hormone treatment to alter his voice.

Richard, I have trouble covering both boards so sometimes I go a couple of day before I see something on POA.

RBL is sort of P-D'd at the continual bashing he gets and is busy teaching but taking a break from the boards....

He's smarter than I gave him credit.

It does seem as if just a couple of people paint a target on Ron's back. I think most of us really value his encyclopedic knowledge, and his effective communicating style.

I dunno, I think it is a little more of an issue that when Ron provides info, it is often 'his way or the highway' kind of stuff. As in his interpretation is the ONLY interpretation and consequently, he has stepped on his crank a few times putting out stuff as gospel that isn't necessarily so. I think that is why he butts heads with a few folks.

That being said, I don't agree with everything Ron says, but I certainly value what he does bring to the table and I do miss his point of view around here.

Agreed 100%. And the funny thing is, if Ron says something is OK to do, you're pretty much guaranteed that it is in fact OK to do that thing, despite what some others say! He's pretty much the perfect benchmark for conservative flying.

I do value Ron's viewpoints, and his posts on the old yellow board certainly contributed greatly to the speed with which I got my PP-ASEL. But occasionally more recently he's had me scratching my head... But at least we were talking about airplanes instead of dowsing for water.

if you only want to talk about airplanes there is always the red board :)

I think the target ends up being self painted when one tries to cast themselves as THE authority on all things aviation related. The problem is when you end up being wrong on a few things in a short time and getting called on it. Balloon goes pop, and it's time to leave the party.

Ok folks let not make this a thread about one person. Not really necessary to share those opinions. PM away but I just don't think its condusive to POA to post them.

For the millionth time!

One: I am not Ed posting as Ed to argue with Ed.

Two: I am not Ron posting as a new member (whoever he is).

Three: I am a REAL PERSON. I could prove this except for the fact that none of you are located close enough to me in California - and I am actually pretty shy anyways so I would probably chicken out and not meet you.

Hmm I just flew to the east coast and back... I'm looking for a west coast trip.... :D

Sorry but . . . there is only one pilot I want to meet in person . . . and I already bought a (gasp) non-refundable ticket to fly myself to the East Coast to see him.

We'll get affadavits from the 6Y9 attendees.

Oh. Sorry! I just think it would be odd for someone to fly all the way to the West Coast from Texas for no reason. I'm not as trusting as I used to be. Again, my fault. Sorry.

LOL I get it all the time.... really. I just flew to the East Coast for no reason.

Its the journey that counts. Not the destination. :goofy:

As the great Ronald Reagan once said, "Trust, but verify!" :D

But seriously, if we all required a reason to go fly, then indeed, we would never fly.

LOL. I'm flying to the West Coast some day no matter what. Doesnt really matter who I meet along the way, if any.

To rack up hours in the logbook. That's not no reason, it's the best reason of all.

:wink2:

I second this motion.

Have plane, use it.

I used to fly my plane from Texas to the west coast for business. Having moved to DC, that's not practical anymore so these days I make the trip in the metal mailing tube. I do fly my own plane on business and personal trips east coast and midwest. Last week I flew up to Boston (picking up a few aiirports for OperationFly).

The husband of one of my colleagues in LA has an RV-4 that's currently in their garage. I suggested that she learn to fly so she can fly it regularly up to meetings in the Bay Area....

Darn it, I mean towards the East from where I am, and there is water so . . . nevermind.

I saw the other poster said something about a trip to the East Coast then I just wrote it.

Forget it, let's just call me stupid and move on.
