I am grateful you are here Doctor Chien and have learned a lot that I can pass on to my clients.

I have a deaf one now for primary training and I fly with a SODA because of a TBI and monocular vision.

I find your posts helpful and informative.

I pause over the enter key each time I have an inquire to post because of the rancor here.

Thank you for tolerating the immaturity displayed by some posters.

I find great value in the information you provide.
 
There are pros and cons to allowing anonymous posts from unregistered people. Some feel more confident about asking for advice anonymously, but there is the obvious downside.
 
I have never met the good doctor Chien nor have I ever been in need of his services (knock on wood). I have however taken note of his large number of supporters on here and have also read the large number of posts where he offers his advice and support to those with medical issues. From that I have concluded that he is a great asset to have on here and I do hope that some spineless troll does not cause him to leave.

I can't read the post Dr. Chien is referring to because it has been deleted.

Dr. Chien helped me 16 years ago and he did it for free. Dr. Chien is a real asset here and some people just don't resect that or anything else.

Ditto. Should I find my medical in jeopardy, I wouldn't hesitate to go straight to him.

I appreciate all the advise you offer on this board, and I think the community is better for your presence, that said...it's the Internet man, try not to take it too seriously :)
 
The thread is still there and the rant against the POA management and the Doc was really unwarranted. It's no surprising the poster has been "censored" in the past.

Yes, those posts needed to go, I think one remains though. It's amazing how tightly people get their panties in a wad over these medical issues. Talk about shooting the messenger.

I think the essence of the posts is the troll feels Dr B is taking advantage of people when he charges for his consultation services. I guess the troll works for free and feels everyone else should too. Oh, and the troll thinks he knows more than the doc. The guy is definitely busting balls.

LoL.....if someone thinks Dr. Bruce charging too much for all that he does, they need to quit aviation.

Dr. Bruce is a wealth of information...he should be compensated for his time and knowledge.

Dr. Bruce has obviously added a TON to this forum, and it MUCH better when he shares his vast knowledge. From reading my POA history book- I know he was one of the founding members and by all accounts, he is a great guy. I am thankful when he weighs in on a medical topic- I know all posts come from knowledge likely no one else here has.

But I'm not sure what he wants the mods to do in this case- they cleaned it up as quickly as they could. Like @Everskyward said, the anonymous functionality of the medical part of the site is a necessary evil, you just hope people don't take advantage of it like the troll did in this case.

I don't get why people would get too upset about the 1% of jerks in this forum, in this case people who aren't even allowed to post. 99% of the people here are awesome, who cares about the 1% that are obnoxious, insulting, etc? I actually think the ratio of jerks/decent people is better here than in most other facets of life.

The troll was not the person who asked the original question. If you are that curious, read my final comments in that thread. We thought it might be a good idea to leave some evidence of the troll's vitriol although numerous posts were deleted. That way everyone can see why the thread was closed. There were a couple other threads that were completely hidden, including the one linked by Dr. Bruce. Everyone in the MC is supportive of Dr. Bruce and his knowledge. Unfortunately it is sometimes difficult to keep up with anonymous trolls. Hopefully everyone here can recognize them for what they are.
