Unless he was planning to land on the wing and slide off the runway, that’s a crash.

I don't even think it made the local news. It did make the local aviation FB pages, but that was about it.

With the amount of wing damage that can be done on that type of landing, it might just be cheaper to get another D18.

But the time to get the mods done and get an experimental certificate might take up too much of the season.

We are now starting the repair process, making the airplane even better than before the incident. We will not be taking her to Barksdale this weekend, but don’t be surprised if another red & black airplane shows up in Miss Ellie’s place.

Based on current assessments, she shouldn’t miss any other shows this season..."
