For some reason, I just clicked on the very last page of my Watched Threads and was perusing some of the first threads on PoA for fun, checking to see if folks I hadn't heard from in a long time were still here.

One person who was quite a character, and an excellent storyteller, was @Lawreston. He hasn't been on the board since 2019, so I went to Google and found that he has gone west as of this past September.

RIP, Jerry, and thank you for the stories.

Ah man. Yeah, he used to be a fairly consisted poster with good stories.

Sad to hear the news.

Sad to hear. I remember his aerials of Maine.

My wife and I met him on a trip down East; interesting guy.
Did he not get a 172 tangled into the trees once?

I think that is correct. He had vision problems and preferred to remain a Student Pilot, flying with PPASEL folk to be legal in his plane. He also frequently used the name Harley Reich just for grins.

Blue Skies, Lawreston/Jerry/Harley. You and I never met, but we did meet on line.
Thanks for the stories and pictures….

Yep. https://data.ntsb.gov/carol-repgen/api/Aviation/ReportMain/GenerateNewestReport/58890/pdf

But that was before PoA even existed, so I think he posted about it on the old AOPA "yellow board" from whence many of our "founding" PoA members came, myself included. I do remember that, as with all things, he kept good humor about it.

I remember @EdFred stayed with him on his sojourn around the country too.
