La Revolution...

Re: La Revolucion...

Apples and oranges. A huge part of that 50% is Social Security and Medicare, but the 48% figure does not include what people pay INTO Social Security and Medicare through payroll deductions.

Politicians do that on purpose. Don't be misled.

For reference.................

A growing trend is SS disability claims and they are accounting for a large drain on the kitty... And....if you research it further you will find a sizeable percentage of those drawing SS disability are undocumented illegal aliens who had kids after sneaking into the US and those "anchor babies" have worked the system and are claiming ADHD... Also, since most of those people didn't have any prenatal care, those babies are born with numerous medical problems,,, and EVERY one is on Medicaid... So ,now we have a large part of society that never paid a DIME into the system and are draining it faster then tax paying , hard working Americans can refill it...:mad::mad2:

And if that's happening, it needs to be fixed.

I love flying...I dont have to talk about, argue, or refute anything political and make it through an entire day...it also helps not going into the spin zone.

It comes down to this.

Liberal philosophy cannot survive bankruptcy.
Conservative philosophy can.

Re: La Revolucion...

But it will also result in LOTS of brand new obama style NO information voters, which is the point.

Yuppers.... A democratic society is based on majority rules... That is their end game... And they are playing it perfectly..:(:(...

I heard that the no information voters were the ones who watch Fox News, and I don't think they are in Obama's camp! :D

Conservative philosophy results in boom and bust cycles that are socially destabilizing.

Um, boom and bust cycles are a fact of economic life. The way of the world. Human nature, even.

All liberal philosophy (AKA: "Debt". What debt?") does is prolong the bust....and makes a catastrophic collapse inevitable. It is a fool's path to mediocrity at best, disaster at worst.

When it comes to a revolution, I see the Republicans taking up arms against the Democrats long before they take up arms against the government. I can see what is happening in the middle east happening here. The Republican religion and the Democrat religion waging a holy war.

The Irish Catholics and Protestants have had trouble getting along for hundreds and hundreds of years. They were at war with each other and some of those hostilities still linger but at a reduced scale.

Various regimes came and went for decades and still do, but without quite the turnover, in Africa, each cleansing, killing, looting the treasury and getting backed up to a wall and "relieved" of command.

The US will go bankrupt and dissolve - like the USSR, long before any type of shooting war will/would develop. Even with the trash now occupying DC, they don't have the ability to push people into a war with each other.

This isn't 1860.

Really?

Sure seems like government was somehow involved in the last one (mortgages) and the next bigger one too (student loans).

Think those "booms" would be quite as big without government mandated and backed "insurance" and bailouts backing them?

The last boom and crash cycle was because of reduced government regulation. Many, if not most thought in the absence of government action we'd be in a depression to rival the one in the 30's. Now, we'll never know if all those guys were right, but a lot of them were way smarter about this stuff than me or you.

Oh. I suppose it's knowable. Heck a comedy show explains it pretty lucidly.

Or they're covering their asses and have skin in the game. Seen the backgrounds and former jobs of most of the experts? They leave one broken financial firm they ran, and hop to the next.

Would there have needed to be as much government regulation if Fannie and Freddie weren't "backing" all the bad loans with fake government dollars that didn't exist if all the loans came due?

Agreed.... The exposure the taxpayers had on the collapse of the housing market and Fannie and Freddie's obscene actions are downright criminal. :mad2::mad::mad:

Re: La Revolucion...

Why isn't this in Spin Zone? Because its not political, and its not argumentative, nor likely to become highly charged...

Bzzzzt!

Thanks for playing, better luck next time!

Huh. Never noticed. It's not real obvious what area you're in when using Tapatalk if you're just going from unread post to next unread post.

It's obvious to me for two reasons:

1. The OP announced at the beginning of the thread that it wasn't in the Spin Zone (That's what I was quoting); and

2. I have the forum options set uo so that Spin Zone posts don't show up when I click on the New Posts link.

We're one candidate away from having a dictator.

I got to this post and stopped. I can't sum it up any better.
