Little early to be drinkin, Jerry.

Who am I kidding, no it’s not.

IFR on file. Departing in about 5 hours. Off to play with little man for a bit. See those of y'all going down there.

Soooo, we may be waiting until tomorrow to show up. Still waiting on good enough weather to get to Tulsa, then the prop balance, which shouldn't take very long, then we'll see what it looks like between Tulsa and Kentucky. I'm a fair weather pilot and I hate feeling rushed, so we'll see how it shakes out.

The truck is a 1962 Willys with the original 230 OHC engine. When I got it they pushed it off the carrier into my yard. I've redone the electrical, exhaust, fuel system and painted it with spray cans. I replaced the bias ply tires with those radials and fabricated the bumpers. I used to drive it everyday but then I got an old Ford Escort because I could keep my golf clubs in the Escort and didn't have to shift gears. Now I use it when I need a truck mostly in the spring and fall to haul dirt and mulch and stuff for friends. I keep it so I can drive it after the EMP attack since it has no electronics.

You need to sell it, or donate it, to meeeeeee!

I’m getting packed up now, anyone else think they’ll make it in?

Stay safe. Hopefully it works out for today but if not we’ll see you in the morning.

I was gonna suggest meeting Thursday evening for happy hour at the bar at the restaurant, but our own happy hour at the airport waiting for people to come in works too
Even just this alone has got me scrambling to get there.

Whatcha waitin' for? It ain't gonna get any better than it is right now! Currently, KJQF I35 M34 keeps you in good VFR (ceilings up around 10000 MSL) and only adds 13nm to the length of the trip. KBLF as the middle waypoint will keep you dry too, but adds 76nm over the direct route. I would aim somewhere in the middle (GZG maybe?) and if you see weather you're not comfortable with out the window, turn right until it looks good enough. :)

Or were you actually trying for an excuse to go to Canada? In that case, continue waiting. :goofy:

Alright, I went ahead and changed reservations to arrive tomorrow, dang it. Still got to get the prop balance done in Tulsa before I head east, and there is still 2000' ceilings there. I'm gonna shoot for an early departure tomorrow morning from T-town. It's about a 3 hr flight, so we should definitely be there sometime before noon. I'm pretty hacked off about that, but I'll see ya when I see ya.

Looks like I’m not gonna be able to make it either. However, if you fly by KCKV and specifically KHOP on your way in on Friday afternoon, I’ll be in the pattern beating my helmet into a fuselage former with day 1 students...

In all seriousness though, use Campbell Approach for anything you need in the area, they are GA friendly and it can get busy in the airspace.

Have a great time, and hope to see some of you at Oshkosh!

Brad

man, you're that close and can't hop on over?

man, you're that close and can't hop on over?

I’d like to, but just have a lot of stuff I have to get done this weekend. If I can break away I will, but unlikely. ☹️

Just rolled in not too long ago and got settled into the hotel. cowman and Radar Contact are both enroute.

I'm at the bar with EdFred. Whiskeys flowin.

Didn’t realize you guys were here! I’m at the airport waiting on cowman. Flightaware has Radar Contact landing in less than an hour.

Y'all better hurry up and get to the bar, Ben is from Columbus and I was born in Ann Arbor so there might be fisticuffs brewing.

There is a C310 from ARR inbound to M34!

I am so jealous that you guys are already there... It’s a bummer that we have to work tomorrow. See you all on Saturday. :)

I just got here.

Just FYI the runways listed for this airport are 9/27 but the numbers painted are 10/28.

There were quite a few left after I parked. There are ropes. Some
Of the ropes are a little iffy but they’re in place.
