There's lots better close by choices than SLC in the Salt Lake area.

I flew a Cherokee into KLAS a week and a half ago, and was told "VFR descent approved, make a 4 mile final for 1L." I did not get asked to keep my speed up, but since I knew I was parking at the far end of the runway, I kept 100 knots right to the numbers, did a no flap landing, floated about 2 feet off the runway for about a third of it's length, touched down and took the first turnoff after that.Generally, you'll get a more verbose instruction.
"Fly heading 250, report 3 mile base" or something similar.
You should be able to go faster when descending on final than if you are level.P.S.--how fast I can go is how fast I'm going right now. Unless I'm descending right now, in that case it's slower.

Great point, and one I didn't think about until I was doing some post-flight analysis. I had always understood that spacing in the air was the issue driving the "keep your speed up" requests, but not getting off the runway in a hurry seems like it would cause problems as well. I knew going in that KLAS has two sets of runways, one primarily used for GA and I was coming in at what seemed to be a relatively low traffic time, but I was still ready for almost any sort of expedite call. It was my first Class B landing (got my certificate in December) and I went in to KLAS because it was the closest to my intended destination, not just for the check mark in the logbook. I had preplanned KHND as an alternate and asked Approach for VFR direct KLAS "if able," figuring they'd give me some sort of lengthy delay if they really wanted me to go elsewhere.I'm not sure that got you off the runway any faster than slowing to 65 on short final, adding full flaps, dropping a short field landing and making the first turn off.
Of the Bravo airports I've been to only IAD has told me to keep my speed up. CLE, PIT, BWI, and PHL were easy to get in and out. BOS was pretty easy also and they gave us a short cut so we wouldn't have to taxi for miles.
Yes, worst I've experienced was here at ORF which is class C. I was in the Baron and already 150 kts on final as the approach controller told me three times to make max forward speed.I've gotten it at San Jose and Fresno, neither of which is even Class B.
It's a function of what's behind you. At San Jose, it was a "FedEx heavy" (probably a DC-10). At Fresno, it was some sort of airliner, but I don't know which. It's fairly routine at Oakland, even at the north field, where there is always some sort of bizjet behind.
