Yea that stuff was nasty. I did JFK-SAT today and it was mess for the last 1:30-2 hours. Crappy rides at all altitudes with deviations all over.

I'm like....pssshhh..... Whatever's. The plane is dirty and this aughta clean it right up.

Well, I'll tell you one thing: I would not be doing that IFR.

If it's good weather go VFR.
If it's bad weather go IFR.
If it's really bad weather go VFR.

That qualifies as really bad.

Hold on to your hats boys

This fall, we had a USMC Hornet pilot rent a 172 and fly it down to Florida during a Tropical Storm. His track on Flightaware looked very much like your screenshot.

Amazingly he and the airplane returned....but there were huge chickens of paint stripped off the wings.

You should go to Atlanta first than go southwest from there

Wow! It was raining chickens?! That must have been some nasty weather! :D

Flight Service Briefer: "...based off that "VFR flight not recommended"

You: :loco::rolleyes2:

Don't need a brief. I've got Foreflight. that works great, but I don't really understand most of that crap, but the pictures work good.

Might be a good idea to familiarize yourself with the things you don't understand. Foreflight is an excellent tool, but only if you know how to use it.

Umm. This is why we have a fridge full of beer in our hangar.
Whenever you are questioning whether you should go flying due to the weather conditions along your route, you should immediately have a drink of the nearest beer, whiskey, or other convenient alcohol. That way you get 8 hours for the storm to dissipate and common sense to overrule get-there-itis.

You guys know I'm joking, right? :D

Seriously, you were? :D
Naw Jes kidding..... I flew under it. I don't have O2 and used my active ADSB feed to punch through. I saw the same hole Dave saw and it was smooth.

I had no idea you were joking. It seemed to fit right in with your character, as I picture it.

I was going to remind you that that "!" by FPL meant you needed to "pack" first. That would have been a good idea.

.

Really? Like, seriously. Really? Typically the most feisty, sharp tongued ones are the intellectually advanced. Those who cannot compete at that level, try to discredit them with baseless drivel.

Huh?
(btw, I forgot to put the "smiley" on my post).

Just pulled her out of the hanger. I've got a Hardys two for one Coupon for Orlando that expires today. Should be a short flight. I'll keep it low so I can fly under this mess. Heard its bumpy over the top and I don't have O2.

You've got (at least) 2 things working in your favor...
1) Wx in those parts typically moves east to west
2) If it's starting to cut you off just give it a short burst of 300kts and you'll get around the edge

Enjoy the flight...I'd go IFR and file FLL as my alternate. Heard it's reopening at 05Z.
