Anyone have any experience using this app for planning and during a flight in place of charts? I've been using it for quickly analyzing various short x-c flights (< 45 min. duration) but am not sure about replacing my charts with it. I especially don't like the inability to measure distances at all zoom levels, unless I'm not using it correctly. Jeppesen doesn't provide a lot of support for this $50/yr product so I'm reaching out to everyone for opinions.

Is there a reason you wouldn't use ForeFlight?

I agree that Foreflight seems to work best for flight planning and their one touch measurement function seems to work great. I think the Jepp app might be good for use in flight but I haven't tried it in the plane yet. I purchased it at OSH and have not been happy with the rate of additional features being added and also have intermittent performance issues with zooming in on the charts.

I fly with a Garmin 796 for my moving map and it works great. I use Foreflight for flight planning and carry it as my backup electronic charts in the plane with the 796 being the primary.

Stubbornness is the best reason I can think of. I purchased AOPAs EQB then the Jeppesen product and I simply didn't want to purchase another one. I don't get to fly that much because of my schedule so I prefer not wasting more money. I was hoping the Jepp product would be improved and really liked the digitized charts over AOPAs images.

The plane I fly is nicely equipped with a GTN650 so Im not really relying on the EFB, but I haven't used it on a x-c flight yet so that may change. Also, my IPads memory is nearly exhausted because of my books and podcasts and I'd prefer not to resort to deleting stuff. In short, I'd like to make do with what I have.

I have had a bunch of versions of Jepps Flitedesk and variants over the years. Frankly, they all suck. What they make feature in the fact that they do dynamic rendering they lose by the fact that they not only have serious usability bugs but the fact that it omits important information that you'd get from a straight digitization of either the sectionals or the IFR-LO charts. You can't rely on it, hence it's fairly useless. Maybe someday Jeppesen will get a clue with software, but it hasn't happened yet.
