At least it seems to be a result of my iPad upating to 10 last night...

Go to the members page.

Try to select "find member" and insert the cursor in the search box.

Nothing happens.

tap (pause) tap (pause) tap (pause) tap...

Nothing happens.

A lot of the other "waggy" issues with my iPad's touch screen seem to have disappeared with the 10 update but this one just started.

I have the same bug, but it's not iOS. Safari on my phone works fine and I updated it to 10. My bug is in Safari on the Macs, and it's on both computers that updated to the new Safari. I have not updated to Sierra on either.

I've had a few freezes where the onscreen keyboard becomes unresponsive in Safari.

And another where it was hard to select text - as soon as I tried to the whole block of text got selected.

Hopefully Apple is hearing about these and will squash them.

I've seen entry widgets go dumb like that and I'm not even using Safari. I think the IOS10 thing may be a red herring here.

May be but it definitely started yesterday when I updated to 10. And the other waggy touch screen issues definitely fixed themselves with yesterday's update (like seldom/never getting the little magnifying glass and/or the "select/select all/paste/look up" option). And those problems definitely started when I updated from 8 to 9...

What else is changing with the iOS updates? I don't know. But these issues come/go with iOS updates.

I have had all kinds of trouble with iOS 10.0.2 on my iPhone 6s plus.
It crashes every day.
I'm scared to upgrade my iPad's OS because of this.

My i6 died while I was in flight on Thursday... just died. Wouldn't work at all after that. It had been working fine and I had told it three times to not update, but I suspect it was trying to update when it died and of course I didn't have it plugged in. :(

For Safari on an iPad mini,I have exactly the same problem with 10.0.2, but my iPad with 9.3.2 is fine.

So it does sound like 10.0.2 has an issue, at least for that feature.

I think I have found at least part of my problem with Safari 10 on the Mac. I did some research and it seems that some websites see Safari 10 as Safari 1. I was wondering why I was getting "unsupported browser" messages in some places. I don't know whether or not this has anything to do with my inability to search members on this site.

As of May 2015, [name of website] will no longer support Safari Version 1 . Please update your web browser soon.

Are you sure you didn't mean to say "iOS 10 IS the issue"? :)
Every major release (whether by crApple or Microshaft) is a huge screw-up with minimal testing. We, the users, are the ultimate beta testers of these unpleasant blunders.
I am waiting on 10.1 or 10.2 to see all these problems fixed before I dare to update.
And with the artificial obsolescence of devices, I am afraid they might kill my iPad "just because". No telling whether it will even run after the update. As I said, I am waiting.

My iPad Air touch screen with iOS 10 sometimes doesn't respond but if I move the displayed page a bit, then touch works. Annoying but not a big deal.

Cheers

Strange that I have no problem with iOS 10 on the phone, it's Safari 10 on the Mac that has the Safari 1 vs. 10 confusion.

iOS reports as "Mobile Safari 10".

And no, it's not much of a surprise to me that web coders made the age old mistake of not bounds checking their browser identification code. Not at all.
