I'm interested in learning how to fly, but I'm only 15. Would there be anyone in the central Virginia area that would be willing to let me ride along during your flight time for extra experience? I am in Fredericksburg.
 
I really wish that I could help, but I am too far away. I expect that someone more helpful will be along shortly.

I have been there. I am homeschooled, so my schedule is more open than most but it's hard to know when someone might be available without planning ahead.
 
Is there an EAA chapter near by? Go to the meetings.
 
I'm over at Tappahannock (XSA). Likely won't be flying until the 20th or so, but if you're still looking could take you around the area.

Look up the EAA chapters in your area,start with a young eagles flight ,and meet some members who could help you out. Good luck.

I'm in Virginia but have not been flying general aviation aircraft lately. Taking some rides is a good idea but if you want to get a head start I recommend reading the Airplane Flying Handbook. It is available for free on the FAA website.
