Touchdown! Greaser!
We had a fatal EMS crash here a year ago and I have learned that one deceased paramedic's spouse is not doing well. Emotionally, of course - but this is about finances.
Apparently there was no provisions by either the county, the ems department, the hospitals they worked for, or the medevac company involved, or workers comp, to care for surviving family members.
Any suggestions welcomed; as to where this person might look to for help. They are way low on cash and have fallen behind in (mobile home) payments now that they only have one income - and that work has faltered due to the stress involved.
Only thing I can think of is a community fundraiser but just wondering if there is anything else.
Also, anyone ever been involved in small counties and setting up insurance for such things? They need to get a better system for the future.
