I just ate at Arbys....

Arby's is ok from time to time but I really hate their fries. Yuck, batter dipped potatoes are awful. Now the potato cakes ROCK! Jamocha shakes, EXCELLENT

But my favorite fast food has got to be Schlotsky's. Get an original on sour dough, yummy!

Come on... go for the gusto and get some real meat! Don't be what you eat! :)

I usually do... but I can't get Ed and his vivid description out of my head... I think I might need therapy.. :(

maybe next time....

It's funny you should say that... go visit Ed on the issue. The CFI PTS has an element titled, "The flight instructor as a practical psychologist".

You're all set. Once he cures you, you both can go enjoy some Arby's roast beef! :D

Schlotsky's has a good sandwich but their 'tater chips beat all I've ever eaten.

Yeah they have pretty chips but not as good as this place that has been popping up around here called Jimmy John's Gourmet Subs. Jimmy started in southern Illinois when he dropped out of college, he is from Cary, IL where I live now and his folks still are so he is somewhat of a hometown hero. His chips are a bit thicker than the ones at Schlotsky's. JJ's has been expanding all over the place in the midwest so be on the look out. BTW they have great subs too. Better than any other chain

..snip....

love Jimmy John's... there are several here in the Indy area... good stuf.

Jimmy Johns is amazing. I was very happy to discover that Nebraska has them as well. I also have a Chipotle addiction.

yes i was very excited to see a jimmy johns open just down the road from my apartment. one of the great things about them in Ames is that they deliver until something like 3 or 4 AM, so after drinking all night the drunkie college kids can get a bite to eat. and its fast, and its good.

i dont know what you alls problem is with Arbys. tastes great going in and no issues coming out here. yum yum

Chipotle? You poor guy. I don't suppose you have any real Mexican taco/burrito stands there. The real deal is MUCH better than McÎonalds' take on it at Chipotle.

It's sorta like how Hamburger Helper Italian is an Italian meal. (I remember when they introduced it and the Tv commercials had the "helping hand" singing, "It's not tooo spicyyyyy...." :vomit: 'caase you know, that Eyetalian food is-a-really speecy. )

I was so glad when they opened a Jimmy John's around the corner from my office.

Whee, fast food. I'da starved by now without it. But, I hate it so...

Arby's? Somethin' ain't right with that beef stuff. Southwest Chicken Wrap all the way. And Jamocha Shakes kick ass. I laid off the curly fries a couple years ago though.

Jimmy John's? Awesome. Wish they'd have 'em in truck stops instead of mostly near college campuses. Their "subs so fast you'll freak" is right on. The one near where I used to live in Milwaukee was so damn fast the transaction went like this: "Hi, may I take your order? That'll be $6.19. Here's your sandwich, here's your change." (in that order.) Wow!

Burgers... White castle? I had a nuke-a-slider once which turned into a puke-a-slider in less time than it took to eat. Never again. Steak and shake? Meh. Mac and Don's Supper Club? :vomit: BK is better if only because the meat is grilled rather than what McD's does which is basically fried. I'd much rather find a Culver's or A&W than any other burger option.

So far today I've had Popeye's Chicken (Chester's is better) and Taco Bell (gotta clean your insides out now and then, and it tastes good too!)

Subway? Overrated. I'm sick of their normal subs and while the monthly specials are good, they never get rotated onto the normal menu. For subs, if there's not a Jimmy John's, I've gotta say that Quizno's kicks the crap out of Subway. There was also a place I went to in California that appeared to be a chain and they cut the meat and cheese as they were making the sandwich. Darn good sandwiches too, I think the one I had was ham, turkey, and smoked cheddar. Mmmmm.

Pizza - What the hell happened to Pizza Hut anyway? They were really good like 15 years ago, can barely stand 'em now. Even Subway pizza is better. Little Ceasar's is OK when I can find it, but the best is local - Glass Nickel Pizza. Really damn good.

I've found that I am tending to gravitate towards "good fast food" such as QDoba (Chicken Taco Salad, mmm) when possible. Unfortunately, it's not possible near as much as I'd like.

I've found Tombstone frozen is better than some of the "fresh" junk. I was an MIT at Domino's about fifteen years ago; pretty much the same as an assistant manager. When I ran the store, the employees loved me. They did well and we produced, together. We didn't sell old dough.

Corporate policy says bread sticks are to be made with "baby dough", meaning fresh, un-risen dough. Well, managers didn't like the risk for extra expense so they used blown dough, over-risen which made for bad pies and sometimes potential for making the consumer sick. The manager was in one Friday evening when I had been there all day, getting us geared up for the rush. I told a line girl to set one tray back in the cooler, it was blown; that I'd try to get the driver to write a credit to us on the delivery that night. The manager threw a fit. I flat out refused to use blown dough for pies to sell. Her bonus was more important than quality of product. I was kicked out of the store.

She couldn't fire me and the company couldn't fire me. I was following corporate policy. I wish they had of fired me. :D

Since then, I never, ever, get the regular crust or the deep dish from Domino's. They take HUGE risks on the deep dish pies. The only safe path is the thin crust which is basically a thick tortilla shell. Put on double cheese, double pepperoni, banana peppers and bacon.... Oh so good! :goofy:

the only frozen pizza i ever eat is the Totinos party pizzas. a good meal and only 99 cents. or when i go home i have my dad half bake some pizzas and then freeze them. i finish them up in my oven at home and yum yum yum.

I wait until the Tomstone are on sale. A while back, they had a deal where you buy four, you get one free. If you buy eight, you get an extra two bucks off the grocery total. By the time it was done, I bought 16 pizzas and paid only $1.70 a piece.

Frozen Pizza!!! What The Heck Is The Matter With You Guys?? You Ar Both Dead To Me Now :rofl::D:D:rofl::rofl:;);)
Hey, we're struggling pilots... not hot shot, big business, jet setter types off to other countries enjoying deer penis for dinner!

:D

I was just gonna say that. Doesn't one pizza = 3-4 ramen meals? I think I read that the price of ramen just went up.

last i knew it was a dime a package for ramen, at least in Ames, IA (college town). 10 ramens may fill you up more than one pizza, but like i said i eat pizza when im feeling rich :)

I agree, but I swear Pizza Hut used to be better. It wasn't as greasy, their sauce actually had some flavor, etc...

For frozen, if ya gotta go frozen, DiGiorno is about the only thing that's tolerable. But ya generally don't have to go frozen, right?

speaking of yummy pizza i went down the street to a local pizzeria and am enjoying one of the best pizzas ive had in a long time. Zoeys Pizza in Marion, IA. yum!

Its not as good as Woodys, but what is? :dunno:

I'm currently enjoying a Papa John's small cheese pizza that I had delivered to my hotel room because some genious in hotel management decided to change the hotel restaurant hours to close at 9 instead of 10 like every other hotel restaurant in the country.

Cheese? Do you have small children? Is their menu rubbing off on you? :D

Jimmy Johns?

I ate there once. Unimpressed. I'll take Quiznos over Jimmy Johns.

Deer penis? Really?
Yep, really. It was in the south of China. You can get all kinds of weird stuff to eat there. The Chinese are big into consuming parts the could "increase ones manhood"

Here is an article on the penis platter that one can get at a restaurant in China. Can't say I have ever partaken of one of those but I sure as heck would not order the pu-pu platter there either!:rofl:

The Chinese are big into consuming just about anything.

There's the old joke about an American, British and Chinese scientists out on an expedition. They find a previously unknown species of animal. How do they differ?

The British scientist will immediately try and classify the animal.

The American scientist will immediately try and figure out if the species is endangered.

The Chinese scientist will try and figure out how to cook it and eat it.

:D

pizza pizza pizza .... "Oh Shakeys, I miss you dearly!"

"We serve FUN at Shakeys ... also pizza!"

I had duck tongue a few weeks ago at Aquavit in NYC. Soft, slightly sweet. Not bad. Not very filling though. I wouldn't recommend it on a pizza.
