I hate this FAR

Helicopters around here are very courteous, they talk on the radio, sidestep when it works for them. Haven’t run into a problem yet. I suppose someday there will be, but on the whole, no issues.
 
Airports with a lot of ultralight activity often put the ultralight pattern at 500' AGL, often on the opposite side of the standard pattern. Same for PPCs, which fly at about the same speed. You don't want a Bonanza trying to stay in the pattern behind a PPC flying at 30-40 mph.

PPCs almost never use a paved runway; it abrades the chute. Almost always they'll use the grass alongside the runway.
